    Hey Ch,

Maybe see if you can get a group together and car share for the day?

It's about three hours by car from Preston. Early start and fun and all that

    I was just looking out of curiosity to see if there were any cheap hotel rooms about for this and found this little gem;

This place is a doss house near me - used to have lots of photos up too of it looking swish, including of a lovely looking swimming pool outside! Gawd knows how long ago they were taken as its been a nightmare place since I've lived around here - 15+ years!!

Hope the fair lives up to your expectations victoriangirl, that's quite a journey! There's plenty more to see in Bristol of course, I really like Cafe Kino and all the street art.

I want to go to this so badly but I can't afford the train fair and the coach would take too long. ); So gutted.

    Sounds wonderful.......not!

I've booked the Travelodge in the sale a few months back and have a £10 train voucher to use (from when the messed up big time once) so my train from the Midlands should cost around £21 need the flexi ticket option as not sure what time I'll be able to escape from work yet. Looking forward to seeing people down there.

With being very busy with house buying and work etc I thought I probably wouldn't be coming again this year.

But having missed the last two, it being a lovely week with me being stuck in an office not enjoying the sun all week and not seeing some of you lot in a while, I decided at about midnight last night that Family-Frosty shall drive down today.

Hopefully I'll find somewhere nearby to park. With me driving I won't be able to indulge in the pounding of high strength organic cider and end up in a fountain this year though.

See you in about four hours!

It was another great Bristol festival.

The weather was brilliant and I hope it's as good next year.

I thought Neville from the Specials and his crew were really good on the Friday.

Nice meeting up with so many people too.

    Hi Frank,
Sorry you missed me. The meeting tents were near the entrance (just past the Portaloos!) On Sunday I was in Campaigns & Lifestle, at 4 pm, just after Viva. It was on all the posters - although not as 'Mzee', with my real name!http://www.veganforum.com/forums/att...4&d=1338412644

    Hey Mzee,

I got your message from the forum - and others - after I had left for Bristol on the Friday.

Tried accessing things via my phone.

I'd put you down for a cookery dem which explains why I missed you!

Hopefully see you at a future event.

Thankyou to Tim, and Fred, and Yaoh, and to all involved in all the fayres over the years and for making a difference. Did I read somewhere that this year was the tenth? It doesn't seem that long ago that I was talking to Realfood Neil (RIP) in the Watershed. It's still the vegan fayre to me. I'm amazed and thankful you still do it. Respect.

I visited VegfestUK Bristol on the Friday whilst en route from Carmarthenshire to Norfolk, where I had booked a week's stay in self-catering accommodation at Hillside Animal & Shire Horse Sanctuary at West Runton. Left my car at Portway Park & Ride beforehand, and stayed overnight at the Severn View Travelodge (booked very early at special sale price of only £10.00!) before resuming my journey on the Saturday.

This was my first visit to the Vegfest, and it was well worth a visit, not least of all for all the lovely vegan food, but there was one disappointing aspect. Apparently this was the first year that the event had been held over 3 days, but it was not advertised that many of the stallholders were only going to be there on the Saturday & Sunday, and consequently, many stall spaces were empty/unmanned on the Friday, including some I had hoped to visit. Unexpected bonus though, as one of the very first visitors, was the free "goodies" bag full of lovely vegan samples!

I will definitely visit VegfestUK Bristol again, but next time, if it is held over 3 days, I will give the Friday a miss.
