    Default Fry's Vegetarian

Just tried their new product 'Fry’s Vegetarian POPS with Fruit Chutney Sprinkles' . They're really good and at £1.75 a box which contains plenty for two people they're not too expensive either.

The cooking instructions could do with some improvement, for oven baking it says to cook for 8 minutes but doesn't specify a temperature! Also, the chutney sprinkles that come in a separate sachet had formed in to one big lump making it impossible to sprinkle, even if you could they wouldn't stick to the pops and the flavour of them is only noticeable in lumps anyway.

Overall though they were very enjoyable, I think they should just not bother with the sprinkles.

Thanks for sharing that Risker. I really fancy trying those, where did you buy yours from?

I had them a while ago, I liked them as well but I thought they were just like their normal Chikin strips but with chutney sprinkles (mine were still in good shape and did add flavour). I agree about the cooking instructions- there was still room on the box so they should have been more detailed. Maybe they could put the chutney sprinkles on themselves during production to make it easier for us?

We're fortunate enough to have a nearby independent store that orders in pretty much anything we want.

Yes, how lucky to have a store like that near you. Maybe they'll turn up in my local H&B at some point, I might try asking them to get some in..

I visit my local Holland & Barrett every week for my food shopping. I haven't seen this product yet but I came across their new product Country Mushroom Pie. It was delicious and the pastry is the best I have tasted compared to other brands.

I tried the Fry's polony slicing sausage recently, its really nice for sandwiches. A little bit spicy but not too much. Don't get why it always seems to come frozen but there's one place that sells it unfrozen and it costs nearly €2 more than the place that sells it frozen so I don't mind thawing it in the fridge!

I tried the Fry's 'banger-style' sausages recently, they're quite nice. I never really look at cooking instructions, I just put them under the grill for about 10 minutes. I'm sure they could be fried too. I slightly prefer Linda McCartney sausages but they are harder to get here (the UK import shop sells them I think).

Nope, I haven't tried those as they weren't available in Ireland before I left. I like normal ones, although red onion & rosemary sounds amazing!
