Default Are electronic cigarettes any good?

    Hi there,

I don't smoke myself, but my partner has been struggling to quit for a long time.
I received a Groupon deal today to buy an 'E-lites E200 Starter Kit plus 5 Tips'
This is the first I've heard of electronic cigarettes.
This is for £26.79, supposedly I would be saving 60% of the original price.
I checked their website and the offer does seem to be good value.

When I gave up, I used the Nicorette Inhalator, and it did help when I was stressed.

But what I would like to know is if anyone can tell me if they are worth bothering with?
Have you tried them, and what did you think of them?
Did you, or anyone you know actually manage to quit smoking with the help of electronic cigarettes?

My partner is also thinking of trying hypnosis.
I would love it if he gave up..

My co-worker uses electronic cigarettes and has weaned down to no nicotine.

My dad found them helpful. More effective than nicotine gum or patches because it's more like smoking. My dad was able to stop smoking tobacco with the use of them when previous attempts had failed. Worth a try I'd say.
I'm told that the cartridges you buy are probably better than the refillable type, gives more of a 'hit' like a cigarette.

I bought one for my friend, he reported that within a month he felt his running ability had improved drastically, and he hardly coughed anymore. He didn't even intend to use it to stop smoking, but two more months later he found himself perfectly content to use the no nicotine liquids instead.

I doubt they're healthier than not smoking, but I think it's safe to say they're way better than real cigarettes
