Hi all, how many of you have seen this message on this board (once or several times)?
Over what time period?
Since the beginning of time.
ETA: Comments about when you often you have seen this message and often you have seen it are welcome!
Pretty sure I've seen it a few times. Just out of interest, why do you ask?
I vaguely remember seeing this once or twice. I think it was when I tried to click on the "What's New" tab. After trying again I was able to get in.
Aye, seen it a few times as well. Couldn't ping point a trend though.
I know that in addition to bandwidth, memory and storage limits, a server (we use a shared server) also has limits in terms of who many database connections that can be activate at the same time. When we reach the roof of available MySql connections, our members and other users will get this message. I get it occasionally myself, and wonder how many others who have seen it. If seeing this message would be a common thing for most of our members, this would mean that our server rejects people who want to visit the forum and read threads etc.
If eg. half of our users would get this message regularly, that would mean that the server would reject a lot of forum visitors. In that case, I'd consider moving more of the public subforums into the Members area, which only can be accessed by logged in members.
