    Default Oven-free meal suggestions?

    Hey everyone!

I recently became vegan and decided that it's high time I learned to cook!

However, I live in a house with no oven, no grill, and no microwave. This won't be the case forever - but right now I can only use the hob, toaster, kettle and bread maker.

So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for yummy vegan meals you can make without an oven/grill/microwave! My main goal here is to learn a variety of new recipes, so any kind of meal is fine: simple, complex, starters, sweet treats, fried, toasted, raw, Indian, Italian, unusual combinations, I don't mind. I'm just looking for inspiration.

I've tried the following recipes, with mostly good results:

    Sweet potato fries
    Meat-free burgers
    Chickpea burgers
    Chickpea soup
    Chickpea stir-fry
Chickpea & potato curry & rice (can you tell I like chickpeas?)
Lentil & potato curry & rice
    Healthy fruit "sundaes"
    Cinnamon porridge
    Spaghetti bolognese (using vegan mince)
    Polenta
    Various salads

I'm sure there are more but I've forgotten them.

I think more experienced vegans will have some good ideas, so I hope you don't mind me asking your help. Thanks in advance!

    That's a pretty good list!

One thing you could try doing is mixing up the way that you serve the meal, for example making chapatis to go with the curry or putting the stir fry into some tortillas every now. Apart from that there's always tofu scramble, chili, risotto, portobello mushroom burgers (they rock!), mashed potato with gravy and loads more that I just can't think of right now lol. You can always mess around with recipes also, for example just adding a bit of coconut milk to a curry can make it 'creamy' and different in both taste and texture.

I'm a fan of making quick snacks (bean salads, hand-smashed falafel, curries)
Most recipes take between 10 and 20 minutes, and involve a little stovetop cooking at most (bean salad is chilled, of course)

If I want to make something without cooking, I make Cous Cous. Just add herbs, spices, boiling water, leave for 5 minutes and its done.
This is also a great recipe that is made on the hob - I have it at least once a week.

That's a pretty great selection of meals . I lived in an oven/grill-less flat for a while and made alot of hob-top meals! I would also like to add that chickpea flour omelettes and quesadillas are also great frying-pan meals
    Houmous atá ann!

Water chestnuts, green beans, (baby) corn, broccoli, bamboo shoots and even carrots are all excellent when sufficiently fried. Add the oil of your choice, the later the healthier, or coconut milk.
