Default Visiting the Olympics this summer? You might get a tad peckish.

I have not interest whatsoever in the Olympics, but the story about what food/drink you can and cannot take in with you got me wondering.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15110730

The cynic in me tells me that it is just a heavy handed stunt to force spectators to purchase from the onsite vendors at inflated prices.

I'm also curious as to how vegans and anyone else with specific dietary requirements, would fare amongst all the hot dog and burger outlets.

I emailed LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games ) with this very question last week. No reply thus far.
From Sutton, Surrey, (or Greater London when they want to fleece me for the Olympics)

It's ok guys - it says we can take baby food.

This says they will cater for 'all dietary and cultural requirements'. (Page 16)

Well, this is encouraging but who knows if Fry's mince will actually be used for vegan dishes at the Olympics or be smothered in catering pack, pre-grated cheese, or some such...? http://veggievision.wordpress.com/20...-olympic-menu/

When my partner and I went to the Olympic site in April to watch a couple of Murderball games, they were in the process of building a huge McDonalds We had to take a photo and post it on FB. Absolutely unbelievable.

Murderball was fantastic Australian team - wow! Amazing. Got really in to it, and was shouting and cheering!
