Default Life Free From brand discontinued

...by the manufacturers (Frylight), which is bad news for those of us who are devotees of their fabulous fish-free Worcestershire sauce

Yep, Parmazano has gone as well.

To make matters worse Sainsbury's haven't had any Tiger Tiger Worcester Sauce (the only other vegan one) in for ages.

    Pah!

    Alas, it is so

Biona do a Worcester Sauce, if that's any help? Although I don't know off the top of my head which, if any, supermarkets stock it. It might be an order-online-only option.

Thanks, I tried some of that Biona stuff recently, sadly it doesn't taste like proper worcester sauce to me. .....
What am I going to do without Parmazano too???? Is there anything similar?

There is a slight glimmer of hope on the website though...

"The Life range is not currently being manufactured.
We are considering production at a new site but cannot confirm details yet."

Crossing fingers and toes that something works out.

Redwoods have recently launched a parmesan-style Cheezly, I haven't tried it though so I'm not vouching for it!

I have been in touch with Sainsbury's and they say they will re-stock Tiger Tiger Worcester Sauce if there is enough demand, as this is effectively the only one available that tastes like proper Worcs Sauce, please contact them and ask for it!

And please get you family and friends to contact them!

Have to say the Biona is a new one on me - I've never heard of them in all the years I've been veggie/vegan!

I've looked at the Tiger stuff before, there is a mayo too, but didn't know/couldn't tell if it was vegan. (isn't there some pot noodle type snacks too?)

Biona make a whole range of stuff, some really nice....just the Worcester sauce tastes a bit fruity/clove I think.

I sometimes use Henderson's Relish as an alternative to Worcester sauce - it's not that easy to get outside Yorkshire but a little goes a long way. Not sure what brand of Worcester sauce I've got, will check.

I have actually got some of the Redwood's pseudo-Parmesan (from H&B) but I haven't opened it yet. Can't say I was mad about Parmazano but I feel the pain of the people who were.

I sometimes grind almonds, nutritional yeast and a small amount of rock salt and sprinkle that instead of cheese on pasta etc. (think this is a Joanne Stepaniak idea).

There's a recipe for worchestershire (I can never spell that right!) sauce in one of the Sarah Kramer books but I've never made it. I have the Life Free-From worchestershire sauce, I find that I don't use it that much but when I do the recipe really benefits from it, its good for making the mince sauce for shepherds' pie or for gravy. I still have half a bottle left but I'll be looking out for a replacement!

I've been looking around for Hendersons relish to try as suggested, but don't seem to be able to get it in the West Midlands (a bit like Sam Smiths' vegan-labelled beers)?

Blueberries - do you happen to know which S K book please?

Owei, the Henderson's Relish I've had has been bought in Sheffield... you can buy it online but only in quite large quantities unfortunately. I see they have a list of stockists on their website but it is fairly short - could be worth contacting them to see if they know any others, perhaps?

ETA when I say "buy it online" I mean "print out a form and post it with a cheque" :/
