More here.Health experts are singing the praises of a plant-based diet, not only for its ability to help people stay slim, but also for its significant health benefits in preventing and managing heart disease and diabetes.
"We've seen people whose chest pain has gone away within weeks, while their weight melts off, blood pressure goes down, and cholesterol plummets," Neal Barnard, an adjunct professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine, told U.S. News & World Report.
"It's an exceptionally healthy diet, especially when it comes to cardiac health," says Michael Davidson, director of preventive cardiology at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
