    Default B&M

Occasionally B&M have a few decent vegan friendly items through their doors.
In the past I've had Provamel soy cream for 25p, Provamel soy custard for 5op.
At the moment they have Provamel chocolate soy milk (1 ltr) for 50p.
Just a heads up if you have a store near you (not very long dates though, end of November of this year - but for 50p it's worth trying if you've never had it before).

Great idea to start a B&M thread, they are one of my favourite shops (they used to sell Peanut butter & co white chocolate peanut butter for £0.50 instead of the normal exuberant prices other shops charge). The often have vegan beers available as well.

At the moment they are selling Penn State Maple Bacon pretzels which appear vegan for £0.89

B&M rings no bells with me at all. What does B&M stand for?

It's a cut price chain, a few steps up from the pounds and type of shops, we have a local one that's opened within the last year or so. I shop there quite a bit.

i bought some Blue Dragon Chinese curry paste for 45p, it is 1.99 in sainsburys. Also their Frys peppermint creams are 39p as opposed to around 75p elsewhere.

They sell all kinds of stuff from food to home furnishings, kitchen utensils etc.

Thanks for the heads up, closest one to me seems to be 15 - 20 miles away. Probably a good thing

Oh, Approved Food can be rather good, if not positively addictive. It takes a lot of googling sometimes to get the ingredients of things. I still have a supply of cheap tofu under my settee and the Dr Karg pumpkin seed crispbreads are filling up my craft supplies cupboard.

Mr Stunt, what was that link you once gave for a supplier of rather realistic looking fish substitutes? I have a sudden desire for fake smoked salmon. Or something. Did you ever try any of their foods? If so, did they taste any good?

Not been able to post for a few days (cheers Virgin!) due to my internet connection being down, but around about a week or so I picked up about 10 1ltr cartons of Provamel Chocolate Soy milk. Date not too long on them (b.b.e. Nov this year) but they are for sale for 50p.

Just been today and came back with some "Nestle Carnation Dessert Mix : Chocolate Rice Pudding" which hopefully is going to be fine, it's definitely vegetarian and "looks" like it may be fine but I'm gonna do some research before eating first. 4 for 50p - if they're no good I'll pass them on.

Provamel Almond Milk drink, 200ml for 19p.

Alpro AND provamel cream - 19p.

Alpro Soya Light Chocolate, 1ltr 39p.

They also had some cheap tins of fruit for 19p too. Dates for the fruit end this month though.

    - - - Updated - - -

Bugger - it doesn't seem that the rice puddings are on Nestle's vegan friendly list.
Nevermind - I'll pass 'em on to my Granddad tomorrow. He'll enjoy them instead.

I picked up this and the chocolate light version today, 39p each. Yum! They still had alpro light "cream" as well. I do love a little wander in B+M to see what delights they have! They always have cherry flapjacks and original flapjacks for 19p each that state suitable for vegans. I'm a tad addicted to those....

Yes! It's Broadlands Cherry and Broadlands Strawberry, although I didn't see any in the larger Preston store the other day. But they did have both flavours in Chorley up till a couple of weeks ago at the least.

Well I've just got started on a bottle of the cherry flavoured one (for medicinal purposes, of course....) and can definitely say I shall be buying a few more bottles.....(for when I'm ill again...of course!).
    It's pretty damn nice.

Gonna have to pick up the strawberry one to try - I'll use the excuse that summer is just around the corner......

I will definitely be trying the cherry wine, and probably the strawberry one too if I'm honest, but I just had a little check - please be aware that the Broadland Norfolk mead fruit and country wine (if they sell it) is not vegan friendly, nor is casked Humpty Dumpty Broadland Sunrise (but the bottled variety is ok).
