ha ha this is so bizarre! over two thousand people have looked at this auction, according to the counter, hopefully just out of curiosity and not because they all crave intestines!!! thanks for sharing it with us!

It's vegan, which means it's vegetarian which means there's nothing unheathy in it. -- my guy trying to explain vegan junkfood.

I just love it! The ad that is not the intestines. It reminds me that when I was young (a long time ago), my Mum used to serve cod roe, tripe, winkles and other such amazing delicacies to the family. I wouldn't eat them then either!

Not quite as bad as vegetarian intestines was Vegetarian Mushroom Fluff. It's a serious product, I think you use it for soup bases and stuff. It looks like dark brown fairy floss (cotton candy). I bought some once simply because the name made me laugh.

Yes they do, it's called chitlings/chitterlings. I know a few African-Americans who eat them

I almost forget, they are commonly served with hogmaw (pig throat)

As we all know, eating animals, any part is disgusting but what would make anyone think that taking a part of animal, their digestive system and scraping out loads of poo and gristle, would be tasty?

I occasionally see the advertisements for that in various restaurants/grocery stores in Southern States. Animal Intestines is used in other products, for example, traditional link sausage are stuffed into casings which are made from animal intestine .

I'd eat vegan intestine. Why not? Only, I don't really find myself craving intestine.

If a person doesn't want to use a real poo shoot for their sausages, they can also use a manufactured intestine made from gelatin.

Boy, this thread just gets more and more appitising, doesn't it?

Yes, I live in cajun country and here there's a dish called boudin that is like that. I'm sad to say that it was my favorite food as one point, of course it WAS before I knew what it was really made of.

how BIZARRE!!!....I don't know what else to say about it.

Yes, unfortunately, people in the south (and elsewhere, of course) eat some really disgusting things. I actually had to grow up around some of that. My grandmother, who raised me from age 2 til 16 (when I was old enough to move out) ate ANY damn thing. I saw her eat intestines, ears, tails, brains, testicles, hearts, livers...the only thing i never saw her eat was an animal's actual sex organ or eyes...wonder why they skip those parts? Oh yeah!!! It's in the sausages and potted meat--silly me! How can people be so freaking unthinking and disgusting???

It's a damn wonder that I evolved into the vegan I am Yay me!! :P

I have family members who think eating blood sausages or blood gravy is a part of "good dining".

I think it's just disgusting and highly revolting.
