can i eat them just as they are or do i need to grind them first?
also is it possible to freeze them?

    any advice will help

    Hello zlinklink,

If you bought the whole hemp seeds with the outer shell you should de-shell them before you eat them. Here is a link as to how you can do that http://www.ehow.com/how_5942255_shell-hemp-seeds.html
It is a lot of work to constantly de-shell them, but I have read that they are fresher tasting this way and the hemp seeds are less oxidized too.
I buy de-shelled hemp seeds and just eat them by themselves. I eat around 3 tablespoons a serving and eat 3-5 servings a day. You can add them to almost anything like smoothies or salads.
You can freeze the hemp seeds, but this is usually only necessary if you bought them de-shelled.

Hi, I usually eat them as they are, I love those crunchy seeds in my morning musli. If they are not irradated or sterilised it's also possible to sprout them - they will be even more nutritious then as I have heard. Also very good in sallads or mixed in a smoothie.

5 servings for me right now is about right, but only because I exercise and I feel the need for the amino acids. I do not seem to feel any bad side effects though when i eat this much.
I know the shell themselves do have nutrition and I would buy them whole, but it is hard to get whole hemp seeds here in the US due to marijuana laws.
