Hi everyone,
Here is the information about an important international animal rights event that will happen soon in Geneva (Switzerland):
First International Veggie Pride in Geneva, from May 16th to 20th, with a big demonstration on May 18 th
Originally organized in France since 2001 and also in Italy in recent years, the Veggie Pride will be an international event for the first time, with vegetarians and vegans from around the world expected.
The dual purpose of the Veggie Pride march (18 May,14:00 at Place des Nations) is
- To question the legitimacy of killing animals for food and
- To defend the rights of people refusing to eat animals or who boycot all animal products.
In addition, various conferences will take place from May 16 to 20 on the beautiful ecosite Mamajah.
Among the speakers present will be Professor Melanie Joy, author of the books “Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows” and “Strategic Action for the Animals”.
It is possible to sleep in a dormitory near to the conference area or at a campsite nearby. For more information on booking and prices see this page.
You can also sign and share this petition that will be given during the Veggie Pride and calling for, among other things, more vegan meals to be available in public and private institutions:
