chocolate chip question

Hello! I'm planning on making chocolate chip cookies for some vegan friends, but the chocolate chips are posing a problem. These friends don't consume sugar that has gone the process using bone char, but all of the chocolate chips I have seen list sugar as an ingredient. Can anyone tell me if this sugar is "safe" or do I need to contact the manufacturer with this question to be sure? Thank you much!

You'd have to contact the manufacturer. Depending on where you live, there are some chips that are fruit-sweetened, no sugar used (Tropical Source).

[FONT=Fixedsys][COLOR=Pink] there are also some dairy free choclate chips that are cane juice sweetened that may be available at natural food stores, also I like carob chips, which i have never seen any of those non-vegan. i also know of a site that has vegan choclate chips, but don't have the site on hand. also, i think Repunzal makes vegan choclate if ur willing to splurge for a little more exensive stuff and cut up the bars into chipsurself. hope this helped!
