It means it contains all vegan ingredients but not on purpose. The company who made it wasn't thinking of vegans, the ingredients they used happened to be vegan.

I think it's important to differentiate between the two and their intentions. The reason being, a company that has intentionally created a vegan product that has the Vegan logo is obviously not going to add milk or casein at any given time. A company that has products which are not intentionally vegan (called accidental vegan) can, will and often do change their recipes and add animal products such as milk powder, casein..etc..
Therefore, I think that a definition(accidentally vegan) for a product that is not intentionally vegan is appropriate.
Also, I would rather support a company that is intentionally adding vegan products to their food lines and supporting the movement by bearing the vegan logo.
I mean it's made by an omnivore company, who does not make vegan specialty foods. They happened to make a knock-off version of a popular chocolate candy. They happened to not use milk in their ingredients. When they were making it they weren't thinking, "OMG THIS IS SPECIAL VEGAN CANDY!" They were making it for the general, chocolate-eating public. The fact that they happened not to use milk is what makes it "accidentally vegan". I'm not the first person to use the term "accidentally vegan", it's used by a lot of people all over, even PETA uses it to describe mainstream products with vegan ingredients.
Peace, love, and happiness.
I'm uncomfortable with the distinction, because it makes vegan foods sound "elitist" and makes us sound even more of a minority than we already are. I feel too that it's wrong to call beans, fruits or veggies "vegan food"... they are simply food items, and those which made up the vegan diet before these speciality foods even existed.
Oh jeez. Why are you taking this so seriously? I'm not trying to start an argument, I wasn't trying to make vegan food seem elitist, I wasn't trying to make vegan seem like a minority. I just used a common phrase that many vegans have used before and I didn't think much about it.
Peace, love, and happiness.
I'm just expressing my point of view, Tigerlily, the same as you. I'm sorry if your'e not comfortable with that.
Thanx a lot for the recipe jamboxrock! The recipe sounds divine. Gotta figure out where to get peppermint extract over here.

Fiamma, "accidentally vegan" isn't a phrase that Tigerlily made up. It's a very common phrase here in North America. I guess it's like a bit of slang.
I quite like the phrase actually lol.
Anyway Tigerlily - I accidentally bought 4 boxes of those things tonight They'd better taste good!!!!
They do taste good! I'm going to buy more tomorrow. I think they only sell them around Christmas time, so I'll stock up!
Peace, love, and happiness.
B: Three cups of coffee, oatmeal, toast with Earth Balance spread, and orange juice.
L: Banana and vegannaise sandwich, blue corn chips, black rice Thai salad, Knutzen's cherry cola Spritzer.
D: Green salad with a Seeds of Change dressing, fried Garden Tempeh, stuffed portobella mushroom, french bread. Dessert was the almond and pecan soy ice cream by Turtle Mountain. I used veganrella for the mushroom and it was better than the other vegan cheeses I have tried.
I drained and pressed tofu and made some tofu eggless egg salad for tomorrow's lunch.
Banana and vegenaise sandwich! That sounds odd but good. Tell me more about it. I'm curious.
Peace, love, and happiness.
Growing up in the south, we ate some strange things sometimes. I always thought it was because we didn't have much money or it might have been a family peculiarity. We ate banana and mayo sandwiches alternating with canned pineapple and mayo sandwiches. Nothing else, just the bread, fruit and mayo. Vegannaise is so yummy that I am happy as a clam to eat my fruit sandwiches. Somehow corn chips seem to be the perfect accompaniment. They just seem to work better together.
I just read somewhere that Elvis ate fried banana and peanut butter sandwiches growing up.
I think I might give it a try.
Peace, love, and happiness.
I just tried those fake After Eight's I hope I don't accidentally-on purpose eat the whole box!!!! They're so yummy!! Thanks for telling me about those
My whole family likes them. My brothers hate anything "vegan" ( ) but they ate most of these.
Peace, love, and happiness.
My sister does too, but I think she does on the principle that it's vegan! She was saying to me when I offered her panckaes, "Are they normal or are they VEGAN?" (Finally I told her that she should be eating fruit because it's "vegan!" )Seriously, she can be impossible.
Your day looks de-lish!!Look4Hope

It's just that it was an expression I'd never heard and by the way you used it in your post it seemed like an expression of your own. My mistake. And I never said you were an evil person; again if you felt I was insinuating this then I'm sorry, it really wasn't my intention.

It's a traditional kind of German Christmas biscuit. The best ones are made without flour, just nuts, lots of spices, and possibly lemon and orange peel. Very nice!
In Germany we have a long tradition of making all kinds of special biscuits for Christmas. My granny used to make about 20 different types, which is not much at all compared to other people.

Def some brandy haha, and some sugar, but after that I have no clue.
ANyway, before that I had some cooked pasta with some garlic and tomato sauce, and about 3 oranges. Then I had 4 kiwis. A liter of evian water, and 4 cups of tea.
Oh, and If you puke something up do you still have to write it down in this forum as something you ate?????? Because I puked up a banana and tomato soup.
Oh, I don't feel well at all.
