    I have eaten really weirdly today. I feel hungry but I don't know what to have:

    2 bread rolls with yeast extract
    Bowl of lentil soup
    Bowl of salad with mayo, it was gross so I didn't finish it
    Bowl of mandarin segments
    Packet of crisps

    Water and I'm having a cup of rooibos tea as I got a free sample in the post

    I'm having a beanburger in a bun with ketchup and a tomato and olive salad for dinner

    Breakfast: Mug of Innocent Detox smoothie, 2 slices of toasted fruit loaf with non dairy spread and cherry spread
    Lunch: large bowl of wholemeal pasta with zest vegan pesto, olives, sun dried tomatoes in herb dressing, peas, sweetcorn, spinach, and engevita flakes
    Dinner: dear one cooked for us, he made parsnips, carrots, brocoli, onion gravy, his special mashed potatoes, and a beanys beany burger

    Cranberry and raspberry juice drink with Floradix.
    Peppermint tea.
    Baked beans and pasta.
    Mug of rice milk.
    Two cups of African spice rooibos tea.
    Avocado and tomato sandwich on wholemeal bread.
    A few beetroot crisps.
    Two bananas.
    Baked potato with margarine and baked beans. Salad consisting of avocado, lettuce, apple, celery and red bell pepper.
    Chamomile tea.
    Rice milk hot chocolate.

    Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee with Natura light soymilk and agave nectar. Oats, flax seeds, raspberries and rice protein powder cooked with water.

    Snack: Petite gourmet mushrooms, grape tomatoes and cucumber with hummus.

    Lunch: 2/3 of a Carrot Cake Clif bar (but I didn't really like it) and lots of various bite-size pieces of raw veggies and fruit, & 2 black coffees at a funeral.

    Snack 2: 1/3 tsp hemp seed nut butter, 1/3 tsp soy cream cheese (had to test out my new foods) and a few grapes.

    Dinner: Leftover chili from last night over mixed greens & two slices of 12-grain bread with earth balance.

    Then some frozen fruit, an apple, a couple walnuts and raw oats.


    I'm going to go drink lots of tea, or exercise a bunch. I'm freezing.

    I had a wonderful healthy day today! (would have been healthier if I hadn't run out of granola for breakfast)

    Breakfast:
    whole wheat bagel. One half with tofutti non-hydrogenated cream cheese, one half with coconut oil and strawberry fruit spread. The coconut oil/fruit half was sooo good, the cream cheese half paled in comparison!

    Snacks:
    apple
    mixed berry tea
    banana
    2 squares of dark chocolate

    Lunch:
    veggie curry (coconut milk, curry paste, soy sauce, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and spinach)

    Snack:
    sliced banana topped with 2 tbsp almond butter, 1 tsp maple syrup, and 1/2 tsp coconut oil

    Supper (lots of yummy stuff!):
    Couscous cooked in a mixture of vegetable stock and almond milk
    Some Harvard beets (steamed diced beets simmered in maple syrup, apple cider vinegar and cornstarch)
    Canned brown lentils with Indian spices
    2 slices of baguette spread with a mixture of Tofutti cream cheese, diced cherry tomatoes, onion powder, garlic powder, parsley and oregano

    Dessert: hot chocolate made with dutch cocoa powder, and a dash of cayenne pepper to make it spicy. YUM!

    Lunch (raw!):
    Nori wraps (nori sheets rolled with avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, radish, seasoned with lemon juice, garlic, and salt)
    2 extra tomatoes and half a carrot
    2 oranges

    Snack:
    Cup of tea

    Supper:
    Bowl of Muffets (like Wetabix) cereal with soy milk
    2 peanut butter and jam sandwiches

    Snacks throughout the evening:
    Pickled beets and regular pickles
    100-calorie pack of Oreos
    Cup of Sleepytime tea
    Peace, love, and happiness.

    1 cup of water.
    2 and a half cups of coffee with vanilla soy milk.
    2 pieces organic wholewheat toast topped with 1/2 organic avocado - mashed, salt & pepper.

    2 organic kiwi fruit.

    1 tall soy latte.
    1 Smart Monkey raw bar.

    About 1/2 litre of water throught the day.

    Tuscan "chicken" risotto (Lundberg Tuscan risotto, with some Yves ground "chicken" mixed it).
    Mixed organic greens with organic walnuts and Santa Fe dressing.
    Roasted herb carrots.
    Roasted herb & garlic organic orange & red peppers.
    2 glasses of water.

    1 bowl Skinny Stix.

    1 cup organic peppermint tea.
    1 chocolate truffle.

    LUNCH:

    Two naked bars - one cheery and the other chocolate

    DINNER:

    Went to a gig yesterday so had to eat where the omnis wanted so we went to Nandos. They ate dead chicken and I ate:

    Veggie burger in a pitta bread with medium spice, side salad and some chips!

    Three beers

    Breakfast: 2 slices wholemeal toast with an organic banana, a satsuma and some pistachio nuts
    Lunch: 1 wholemeal pitta bread stuffed with pease pudding, tomato chutney and lettuce, a mug of innocent detox superfood smoothie and some more pistachio nuts
    For dinner we are having stir fry with rice and maybe mock duck? Is this ok to serve with mock duck? and some strawberry veggie jelly (Ahmed brand) made with a pear, an apple and a tin of citrus fruits, topped with Alpro vanilla custard for pudding.

    went grocery shopping today, so more veggies to come again!

    All this cake and muffin baking are bad for me... I had apple pie for breakfast today!

    Then went on with some dates (saying I don't have a sweet tooth, I know...), then finished leftover French lentil soup.

    Back to soup tonight with another v-con classic, the chickpea noodle soup.

    But hey, I chopped and washed all the veggies for next week and put them neatly into the fridge.

    Crumpets and a clementine for breakfast,
    Pretty massive lettuce/onions/peppers/gherkins sandwich for lunch, and some crisps later on.
    And some pasta for tea. Though, the sauce despite claiming to be microwaveable, caused a mini explosion. Nice.

    What are the main benefits you feel from water fasting? I've heard of some people doing well on them and others doing very poorly. I haven't done one in a couple years because it was so miserable for me. I don't know if I could read the "what did you eat today" thread while on one though!

    yeah, it's quite painful to read!! this is the first one i've done, so i'm not really sure what to expect - i guess i'll soon find out though! how long did you go for when you did it? i've heard that 10 days is the most effective, although i don't think i'll last that long to be honest.

    Oh sorry! I didn't want to make you feel bad or put you on the spot. I was just wondering what the main benefits are, as I didn't seem to experience anything but fatigue and depression!

    I did five days. I don't think I could do 10 days without it getting to my head and loving the weight loss a little too much. Plus I think I'd just get so weak (from my five day experience). Apparently, some people experience a sort of adrenaline boost after a couple days that keeps them going.

    do you mean how do you live as in how do I live without crumpets or did you mean where ?

    They surely are an UK thing, but having spent my childhood mainly among Brits, I'm into all sort of UK things I've found recipes as well, but they ask for special crumpet irons which I haven't found anywhere yet

    Another yummy healthy day for me!

    Breakfast:
    Homemade granola (oats, wheat germ, almonds, hazelnuts, sesame seeds, ground flax seeds, walnuts, shredded coconut, raisins and dried cranberries), with almond milk and a spoonful of sugar on top.

    Lunch:
    6 inch veggie sub from Subway (lettuce, cucumber, green pepper, mustard and pepper)
    1 square of dark chocolate

    Snack: handful of raisins and some pine nuts

    Supper (at a vegan- and raw-friendly restaurant!!!):
    Grilled sandwich on multigrain bread with roasted tofu, garlic-tahini-tomato sauce, sprouts, tomatoes, spinach and cucumbers.
    Raw pizza! Dehydrated crust (flax, sundried tomatoes, almonds, and other stuff that I can't remember!), topped with raw pesto, Japanese cucumber, tomato, sprouts, lots of greens, avocado, and other stuff that I can't remember!

    Dessert: hot chocolate made with almond milk, dutch cocoa powder, sugar, and a little cayenne pepper

    L: Raw mushrooms, carrots, tomatoes. Slice of whole grain toast with organic hemp seed nut butter.

    Snacks: Half a granola bar, an apple, two bananas, two oatmeal cookies, some pretzels & strawberries & melted dark chocolate. Hemp coffee with soymilk.

    D: Amy's black bean and rice burrito. Mixed greens with cucumber, and olive oil - lemon juice dressing.


    Trying to cut back on sugars...made me binge a little >_<

    the spice made from bell pepper seeds is called paprika?
    but not the bell pepper itself.

    i just recently learned that, as i was talking with someone about bell peppers, that its one of my fav vegetables, and he thought i was talking about the spice, cause here we call it all paprika, the spice and the bell pepper

    btw... i only ate some grapes and tomatoes so far, but it's very early in the morning here

    Meal 1:
    3 fudge-covered shortbread cookies
    175ml container of peach soy yogurt
    Cup of tea

    Snack 1:
    Bowl of red and green grapes
    Peanut butter and jam sandwich on multigrain bread

    Meal 2:
    Chinese noodle soup
    Chinese-style veggie curry with rice
    Homemade lemonade

    Snack 2:
    3 or 4 chocolate wafer cookies
    Cup of tea

    Meal 3:
    Chickpeas and tomatoes with lemon juice and olive oil eaten with toasted multigrain bread
    Olives and pickled baby eggplant
    2 oranges

    @alleen: the same happened to me the other way round - I gave a recipe to a friend and she translated "red and green pepper" as "Pfeffer" instead of "Paprika" (which somewhat altered the recipe). Why does it have to be soooo confusing?

    I have written to Nandos before and they sent me an ingredient list for the veggie options, of which there are four. The veggie burger is the only one which is vegan but you have to make sure you ask for it without mayo. It's more like a vegetable protien burger and it's actually quite nice although on my own I would NEVER eat in Nandos. It was either eat there or starve. Brixton is SHITE for vegetarians let alone vegans, unless you guys know different?

    BREAKFAST:

    Baked beans on potatoe waffles

    Bowl of weetabix with agave syrup

    LUNCH:

    Can of organic cranberry juice

    Seaseme Snaps

    (Was doing a stall in a non-vegan friendly town!)

    Half a tin of baked beans. Spinach, one large flat mushroom and one tomato, all fried in a little sunflower oil.
    Cranberry and raspberry juice drink with Floradix.
    Pasta with tomato, spinach and onion sauce. One quarter of an avocado.
    Seven lychees. One cup of Yogi liqorice tea.
    A few beetroot crisps.
    African spice rooibos tea with rice milk.
    Sandwich made from two slices of wholemeal bread, half an avocado and beetroot crisps.
    Chips and mushy peas.
    Rice milk hot chocolate.

    That looks good vava.

    I have had toast and yeast extract and 2 cups of tea for breakfast.

    I just had these french bread pizza things I made with chips and salad, it was sooo nice. I took a picture on my husband's phone but I don't know how to put it onto the PC.

    YESTERDAY

    - Fruit salad: Pineapple, apple, peach & passionfruit. 2 cups of green tea.
    - Mushroom pie w. ketchup
    - Mango
    - Pumpkin soup w/ 2 slices of bread.

    Yesterday:

    Breakfast:
    -- Yogi echinacea tea
    -- Yogi cold season tea
    -- two bananas

    Lunch:
    -- Teavana spiced roobios and mate vana tea
    -- two grapefruit

    Dinner:
    -- 1/2 cooked 1/2 raw salad:
    raw part: kale leaves, plum tomato, springwater sprouts
    cooked part: mexican spiced rice and black beans

    Snack:
    -- six wasa whole grain crackers w/ organic peanut butter

    Hi, I'm a newbie vegan...I'd been vegetarian for five years and although I'd always seen veganism as a long term goal, I'd never made it enough of a priority. Recently, I was eating a yoghurt (bleh) and I noticed on the inside of the packaging a nice little passage about how the dairy calves (sp?) on their organic farm go on to live nice happy lives in their beef herd . I put the rest of the yoghurt in the bin and yesterday was my first day as a vegan. I feel ashamed and disgusted that I didn't make the link sooner (boy, do I envy people who were raised vegan!) Anyway, yesterday looked something like this:

    B- Two oatibix with rice milk and banana
    S- Larabar - Ginger snap
    L- Multi-seed bagel with pure
    Veggies (cucumber, carrot, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, celery) with red
    pepper houmous.
    S- Apple, Salt and Vinegar Soy Crisps
    D- Stir-Fry (Tofu, wholewheat noodles, sugar snaps, baby corn, carrot, pak
    choi, soy sauce, sesame oil, plum seasoning)

    Drinks - Water, tea with rice milk x2

    D: i'm not sure.. i'm thinking tomato soup maybe.

    Two slices of wholemeal toast with margarine and yeast extract.
    Toasted sandwich - two slices of wholemeal toast, margarine, mushy peas, tomato slices.
    Cranberry and raspberry juice drink with Floradix.
    Two flapjacks. African spice Rooibos tea.
    Brown rice. Stir fry - carrots, red bell pepper, broccoli, cabbage, beans, onion and mushrooms.
    Two digestive biscuits. Bowl of Alpro custard.
    Rooibos tea.
