    Default Vegan Sultana Scones

For the perfect vegan English tea-time treat.

    Vegan Sultana Scones

    8oz self raising flour
    4oz sultanas
    2oz sugar
    2oz margarine
    1 teaspoon bi-carbonate of soda
3-4 fluid oz of soya milk (or enough to bind)

Rub the margarine into the flour, add the rest of the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Add the soya milk until the mixture becomes a dough. Roll out the dough to about 1 or 2 inches thick depending on how big you want the scones and cut into shapes with a cutter.

Cook for 15 minutes or so at gas mark 6/200c/600f

Serve with jam and a cup of tea. What else!

    I made them!
They're really nice, though either use less milk or more flour, because the dough was very sticky.

600f? That's awfully high for scones.

Are you sure you don't mean 400f (since that's what 200c translates to).
It's vegan, which means it's vegetarian which means there's nothing unheathy in it. -- my guy trying to explain vegan junkfood.

Looks great I'd have some with a cup of tea
