If you mean, can they link to external sites via a <a href="whatever"> tag, then yes.

If you mean something else then you need to say a bit more.

I reccomend this to anyone looking at setting up a local website from scratch or to those who already have a local vegan website that looks a bit tired.

Having no special knowldege of this kind of thing, limited time, no money, and a need to get info out there, LVW really is just so so easy, and freeeee!

All you need do is enter the content, thats it, nothing technical at all. Easy peasy lemon ........

Theres yet another LVW site set up, this time it's Somerset Vegans, better known as Bumpkinbeans, and by another veganforumer to. This really is so easy to set up and get info out there, and free.

Look out for another one or two sites from fellow veganforumers from around the country coming soon.

Default Bumpkinbeans Work Under Way At last

Well since signing up for the makesense make a website it has taken me some time to get my basic layout designed and sorted how I would like it.

At last today I can happily say the basics are underway and I have added a small number of locations today more to follow as time allows.

    http://www.bumpkinbeans.makessense.co.uk/index.html

    Cheers for now

Nice, but seems to take a long time to download the pages. But it's good that you've created something pleasant.

The set up takes a little while as you need to choose all your colours and fonts, I found out after much trial and error that it was best to stick to a theme.
    EG Blue/Silver/White

The backgrounds are chops from some digital photos I recently took whilst on Holiday they are sea skies.

Eve, having images in may explain the loading speed if it plays up to much for people on dial up internet I may remove them.

You do have a fair amount of freeplay with the site but if look at all the other they are of a similar layout, I have no real control over the loading speed other than that background image which may be an issue.

Please let me know if anyone else is having loading speed problems.

Before you rush to order online do you have a Wilkos Store near by or some other large discount store as they all stock Astonish Products.

I have used loads of the stuff for various jobs and they have something for most jobs top stuff and as well as them saying it will not cost the earth or planet using Astonish it also does not cost a fortune like some other products that are Environmentaly sound and Vegan.

Default LVW at the Bristol Vegan Fayre 2005

If all goes well there should be a laptop running a demo of LVW on the Vegan Society stall at the Bristol Vegan Fayre 2005.

More info about LVW here, and Vegan Bristol, here.

    Hi

There's a big upgrade happening to LVW in the near future, hopefully before the Bristol Farye.

It will give a WYSISYG edit to various parts of the configuration forms and HTML editing tools for those happy to write HTML.

You'll be able to load images on-demand while editing other objects.

Image previews will be available when picking images.

Forms have a much nicer look and our broken into logical sections.

You'll be able to preview more stuff before commiting your work to the server.

I'll be making the styling stuff much easier to use by previewing the changes you are making as you make them.

I'll be upgrading the location editing first. That should be there in a few days time.

    **************
It would be good to hear of performance problems. They are hard for me to judge because I sit right next to the server and have broad band.

Large background images may be a cause of bad performance.

There are some sites that give performance rating's for sites. I'll dig them out and pass them on to the site owners.

Default Calling Somerset Vegans - Someone wanted to take overweb site no skills required

A while back http://www.lvw.makessense.co.uk set up a fantastic platform which allowed anyone with no web skills to make a web site and inform people about all things vegan is their area.

About 5 months ago I signed up and started http://www.bumpkinbeans.makessense.co.uk/index.html other than one of two posts and the layout I have been unable to continue to add things, this is due to several things.

Working on a PC at work all day going home and using one again is the last thing I need to do, no matter how good the cause, I have also changed my job here a bit and reduced my PC use due to bad eye strain.

So for this reaosn my PC use is minimum, so beofre I throw in the towel and email the nice folks at http://www.lvw.makessense.co.uk I would rather ask if anyone is interested in taking http://www.bumpkinbeans.makessense.co.uk/index.html over from me, it is really easy to use and operate, please leave any questions here or if you are seriously interested PM me here or email me if you know my eamil address and I we will take it from their.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Since LVW's initial release there have been great changes to it especially on the configuration side.

Here is a tour of LVW:

    http://www.lvw.makessense.co.uk/articles/210.html

from the perspective of the site you get, a little on how it works and how the configuration side works.

It doesn't get any easier than this to have a web site, but yes, you still need time to research your the content and put it in.

You can multiple logins to a site so you can do it as a team if you wish. Three other LVW sites work this way.

LVW has added direct access to its Cascading Style Sheets so the customisation of sites is greatly improved.

    It generates XHTML valid sites.

Download section resently added, for newsletters etc.
