Eve
This interesting link to a vegan website, has a useful cross section by topic. http://www.veganviews.org.uk/vvcrossref.html
Eve
Thanks tails, the more vegan websites the better!
Eve
Cool website Tails I am looking forward to seeing the nutrition chart they are doing.
Techy note - Anyone using Firefox this site does not display unless I am missing a plug in or something but it works fine in I.E 6.

Thanks tails. I'll have a 'mooch' at that later when I've got a bit more time. Until then it's gone on my favourites.
Didn't we have a thread for useful urls? Anyway, couldn't find it, but this seems a useful site: http://www.isitvegan.com/index.php?s...25&sumbit.y=17
Eve
Hi, eve-
Many thanks for the great link. Especially the "caramellachocolates"- Wow--got to try that vegan choc cake. Yeah!!
spo
I still can't find the thread with all the useful urls of websites. Anyway, this is quite a nice website: http://www.vegnews.com/
Eve
Thanks, eve

I recently subscribed to VegNews - great magazine!

I really like this website: http://www.vegforlife.org./

It is a monstrous thing to do, to slay a unicorn...you have slain something pure and defenceless and you will have but a half life, a cursed life, from the moment the blood touches your lips.
I think this is great http://www.peta.org/feat/meatrix/
That WAS great Mozbee, thanks!
Thanks Dianecrna, this one's more informative (and aimed at older viewers) - it is the Pesticide Action Network http://www.pan-uk.org/
Thanks Eve it's good to see a figure for the animals we save by going vegan each year.eve
Hey, if you are in the UK then also check out our online database, www.isitvegan.info - and let us know when you find vegan products, or products which should be vegan, but aren't. Then we will pester them.
Thanks eve, thats a great site! However I'm a bit confused, the site contains a "vegan food pyramid" link... which is a dating service???
This a new site that is being plugged a lot Ben Zephaniah's on soon too.

Great site alert
Eat This
www.veganbodybuilding.org this one is neat!
As it says in my signature: www.veganfitness.net and my newest discovery (well, was told by a friend): www.vegweb.com - gorgeous recipes!
please grant me the senility to forget about people I never liked anyway
Even more in the Links to vegan recipe sites thread Billyster.Billy
Animals that don't get included in the figures of who we save are bees, cochineal beetles, etc and all the insects and rodents who are killed when we farm crops to feed the animals we plan to eat. Tiny animals will always be accidentally killed in arable farming, but at least by being vegan we save many thousands, perhaps millions of these too.Mozbee
A while back, I think,I heard something about cochineal use being fazed out, is this true?
It would be super to know how many bees are saved from slavery.
as mentioned a few times, I'd really like to see a thread just for urls of websites that are of interest to vegans. Sometimes a website is mentioned in another thread, then it gets lost. This is one I came across today, perhaps others already know of it: http://www.veg-world.com/
Eve
Hi Eve, such a thread has been created several times, but the problem is that with almost 3500 different threads, it's not always easy to find without using the search function. (Also, this very subforum basically only contains links to interesting sites for vegans - there are more than 300 already...)eve
Since this forum also covers articles and news, I have merged some of the 'favorite vegan/vegetarian websites'-threads into this one now, for fast & easy access to the sites you like best.
Next time it gets lost, an easy way to find it is to click on 'Search' (see above), select 'Advanced Search', type websites, and go for the 'Search Titles Only'-option.
At the bottom of the search page you can save your search preferences, for example if you want to use 'Advanced Search' to always search in titles only.
I will not eat anything that walks, swims, flies, runs, skips, hops or crawls.
www.vegporn.com is a good one.

The new issue of Vegan Voice is out in a week or so, but meanwhile, extracts of a few of the articles can be seen on line at http://veganic.net/articles.html and the cover page is at http://veganic.net - but go through and check out all the pages!
Eve
Vegan Voice is the greatest magazine, I reckoneve
Long Live Sienne Blake

avid reader
I agree with you anthony; Vegan Voice is the best mag, www.vnv.org.au is the website I use the most (although the v stands for vegetarian, it is run by a vegan, and of course, VF is my favourite forum.

That vnv.org.au seems to be a very informative website, Eve.
Yes, you Australians always are able to find the best websites.
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. - Albert Einstein
There's another url that I've added to the Vegan Voice Links page - it's the Animal Rights & Rescue Group, a non-profit volunteer organisation. They rescue homeless or unwanted animals, provide them with care and shelter until suitable homes can be found for them.
Their 'foster carers' and volunteers are all unpaid, monies donated are used directly to help the animals. It's at http://www.animalrights.org.au/
Yes, Roxy the vnv website has heaps of info pls they have a useful newsletter.
Eve
A few of my favourites vegan sites are
vegfam
a vegan charity a bit like oxfam
The Vegan Family House
A lovely site about a vegan family in Scotland. Lots of info on vegan living and raising vegan children.
The Frugal Living in the UK site isn't strictly vegan, but the people who run it are and it contains vegan recipes and tips for saving money and living more gently on the earth.
This website provides free web space for vegans and animal rights activists: VegHost.com
Check out http://www.thehumanimaleye.com
This is a great website!
Wow - it looks like there are lots of good programmes worth listening to, there!vegandolly
the humanimaleye website is quite interesting, but it's one of those websites that take too long to download for my liking. I realise that some people like to see pictorial backgrounds, but for me, the text is more important. The odd pic ok, but even the text here is not set out well enough to read the bottom lines. But of course the more vegan websites the better.
Eve
The Insitute for Plant Based Nutrition produce newsletters on nutrition, recipes, ethics, vegan organics, where to eat. It's US based.
http://www.plantbased.org/
http://www.tonglen.oceandrop.org/Wel...The_Index.html - I like this website but the graphics take a long time to download on my old computer! But I like the various topics.
Eve
I do like http://www.thinkvegan.net
and I would also recommend my blog link (see my signature below)
Check out my blog about animal equality, antispeciesism, veganism and activism!
VeganActivist.net (English version)
VeganActivist.net/es (Spanish version)
Great blog Equality!!! Brilliant work - some pretty poignant images and thoughts.
"if compassion is extreme, then call me an extremist"
That was fantastic! I am going to email my niece with the URL so she can see it too! She is 19 and only the other week associated pigs in the field with bacon - what is happening? Kids today do not seem to realise where their food comes from? I reckon she will end up veggie as she only consumes fish and chicken - so this will be good for her to see!Mozbee
Thanks x
