We try and avoid Mc's but he goes to 'Little Ninja's' which is right across the road. The other day he asked if her could buy a burger in order to get the plastic toy. I took him somewhere else and bought him a book instead! It's so brainwashing to kids, this whole Maccas thing. I'm appalled.

    Yes it is: McDonalds reply:

A McDonald's spokeswoman said Charles's remark was "disappointing".

"This appears to be an off-the-cuff remark, in our opinion," said the spokeswoman.

"It does not reflect our menu or where we are as a business."

I worry about that for my child. I am hoping to create a good community support network with other vegan families so that they realize that they are not the only ones who eat like we do and for the reasons that we do.

I teach grade 6 and I find that the students in my class eat McDonalds at least once a week. It disturbs me that parents feel that that feeding their children this nutritionally deficient food is good for growing bodies and developing minds. They know that I am a vegan and they snicker because they can’t understand why I would not like such good tasting food. I try to educate them to the reality of McDonald’s but commercials and parental support is difficult to override.
