Hi Puffin. I realised when I said I wasn't into fruit at the moment, that today I have actually eaten 2 plums, a banana, a pear and several clementines!! Lol.
I eat more fruit in Summer too. I suppose I meant that I haven't been really craving fruit recently like I sometimes do.
Blueberries - there's always room for those And strawberries. And raspberries.

Bad deeds, and deeds hurtful to ourselves, are easy to do; what is beneficial and good, that is very difficult to do

my current favourite is a dish i made tonight...
SOUTH AFRICAN VEGETABLE CURRY
Ingredients:
dried split peas
2 carrots
1 onion
1 tomato
broccoli
curry powder
spirit vinegar
salt
olive oil
1. Add dried split peas to plenty of boiling water and let cook for about 30 minutes.
2. In the meantime, you can start chopping up the other veggies...peel carrots and cut into disks, pumpkin (any type) into smallish chunks, onions into thickish rings, tomatoes into cubes and broccoli into big florets.
3. First add carrots to peas and let cook for 5 minutes with lid on pot, and without stirring.
4. Now add a layer of pumpkin, then a layer of onions, top that with the tomato layer, and last add the broccoli. Let cook with lid until veggies are just about done, and don't mix!!
5. Mix 1 heaped teaspoon of curry powder with 3 o 4 tablespoons of vinegar, some olive oil and salt to taste. Pour the mixture over the veggies in pot, and mix. At this point there shoud still be some water left, so as to form a curry sauce. If not add some water. Let cook for 1 or 2 minutes, to let veggies absorb the curry.
6. Serve on its own, or with rice or a buttered bread bun.
This makes one BIG helping.

is there something special about 'spirit' vinegar, or is it the same as regular vinegar?
Spirit vinegar is just plain white vinegar. Maybe you call it something ese in the US
Piggy
In no particular order:
1. Grilled portabella mushrooms
2. Amy's veggie burgers
3. Falafel
4. Almond butter
5. Vegan pumpkin, choolate, carob chip, and lemon cookies (4 different types. I think the brand is "Vegan.")
6. Hummus
7. Soy Chocolate Peanut butter ice cream
8. Asian pears
9. Salads (I know, I'm boring...)
10.Veggie Stir-fry
Falafel rolls
Home-made risotto with brown rice
Red onions with anything and everything
Mashed sweet potato
mmmm sweet potatoes. I could eat them at every meal... forever!
Pineapples or maybe possibly mangoes and some of those exotic tropical fruits in the islands. Can I pick more than one?
I'm fed up with food, cooking and everything so I'd like a daily vegan pill full of all the nutrients I'd ever need and it would also make sure you never felt hungry. Then I'd be free to do other more interesting things than cooking and eating.
Silent but deadly :p
Sun-Dried Tomato hummus on whole wheat pita with Alfalfa sprouts. No hesitation.
Onion Bagels with hummous, fake cheese and fresh coriander.
i couldnt chooose! tofu stirfry.or shredded broccoli and carrot with seasoned vegan butter..or fake cheese avacado tomato and spinach sandwiches....or like hemlock i dwant a nutrient pill so i didnt have to have the boredom of havin to eat one food forever!
but on a deserted island i imagine food would be one of the pleasures and one of the only interesting things....il have to think abotu taht one!
Id have to have broccoli florets and almons and ginger with brown rice and probably cake, maybe carrot cake, cos otherwise life just wouldnt be worth living!! But then..what about chocolate... Get me off this desert island.... NOW!

Probably bananas for me
Some sort of fruit for sure. I eat about 15 servings of fruit a day so it makes up the bulk of my diet.
Potatoes, Tofu, and soy yogurt are also things I could live on for a while

OK, so I would clearly be dead first since you all are so healthy, but I"m going to say chocolate. At least I would go out happy!
actually wait... I've heard there's chocolate covered marzipan in Europe that's vegan (that I can't find here). When I was growing up I ate marzipan like crazy.
So I say chocolate covered marzipan. Yeah, what a way to go.
My favourite meal at the moment is vegan burritos. I stir fry onion, carrots, courgette, tomatoes, broccoli, red peppers and sweetcorn then add a tin of mixed chilli flavoured beans (or fresh kidney beans and add chilli powder). The mixture is spooned into warm tortillas and topped with a dollop of tofutti better than sour cream and served with a mixed salad with corriander and organic french dressing. Divine!
i've got a new favorite: vegan vegetable stew! mmmm
Either baked potatoes, or soymilk.
