    Default Soy vs. Soya

What's the difference between soy and soya? Is it just a different word for the same thing?

Same thing. I think in the US, the "norm" is "soy," but elsewhere, "soya" is popular.

Oh, ok, that makes sense. I'd always heard soy until I came on this forum and heard soya. I like soya better, it's a cooler word.

I was wondering that as well. Thanks for asking that question, and thanks Artichoke, for the answer.

I say soy, but I was confused as well.
