I honestly have to cut down on junk food and start eating more fruit and healthy foods on a daily basis - not just in spits and spurts.
I really love fresh fruits and vegges, and i think it's much easier for me to get ahold of them than it is for some cuz i live in cali, where we're known for having an abundance of fresh items, although, we're usually known for nice weather and we've gotten very little of that lately ::sigh::

I eat tons and tons of fiber. In my cereal, and fruit, and whole grains etc. And I was flipping through a book in Borders yesterday that said that that can make your stomach bloated and keep you from having a flat stomach. Is there any truth to that? Or is that just one of those fad diets that really has no scientific or experimental evidence or backing at all.

the only thing is that u have to poop more, which between times can make ur lower belly pooch out a bit, but other than that they say that eating a high fiber diet actually helps keep the waistline in check, so poopoo on that, lol no pun intended.

I LOVE CHIPSxwitchymagicx
Its kinda sick, chips made me pretty fat growing up. Well, actually, the breakdown of my family and emotional problems resulted in making me fat, the chips were just a staple food i used to get there. Ive since lost 50 pounds, so its ok, but i try to stay away from chips except for treats, because of my history!

Japanese tofu (not sure of the brand) with steamed vege and tamari. I could eat it every day and not get sick of it.
I just discovered quinoa (where have I been?). It's great in almost anything. I love it in my tomato based chickpea concoction.xwitchymagicx
I just add it to anything because it is so nutritious i just have to remember to soak it the night before so i can have it for breakfastsoylatte_au

i love custard apples, they're pretty hard to find, but that makes them an extra-special treat

I find I eat the vegan original Bocca Burgers original really often. Probably too often, when I am too tired and/or too lazy to cook, I eat 2 or 3 of these for dinner with or without bread. Tonight I realized these have been a mainstay of mine since I've been veg. I hate the high sodium content in these types of foods though, but they are so yum to me when I want something fast..
jeeze i reckon im having like an avacado a day lately. crazy this is.
Has anyone tried NoodleBox noodles? YUMMO let me tell you. Get curry rice noodle with tofu, delish. The tofu is so strange, like little cushions of juice which burst with flavour in you mouth *drooling right now* back that up with sum sushi and your i heaven

I tend to eat raw shredded beets, kale and calcium-fortified orange juice daily
are sultanas addictive? i cant stop eating them...seriously, im going thr tonnes of them. my sis is the same..she cant stop eating them either.
Hey there Screamingcarrot i reckon it may be the high fructose/sugar level of dried fruit that makes them so addictives, because i used to have prunes alot, and always found it really hard to stop at just 5!
yeah you might be right. i have a sweet tooth. all those prunes, you mustve been in and out of the bathroom every second!!happycow
I eat beans and potatoes every day. Also, I usually have at least one apple, one orange, a bowl of oatmeal almost daily for breakfast... hmmm... I also eat at least one Banana daily. I also rarely go without my grapejuice. Oh... I eat rice really often too.. and organic popcorn (home made). I also eat rather a lot of greens (turnip, collard, mustard, and spinach) weekly. I'm a big fan or carrots, as well.
I never eat anything processed anymore.
Lately I've been eating and drinking loads of:
Baked beans
Raisins
Puffed wheat cereal
Soymilk with chocolate syrup
Calcium fortified OJ
Green tea
Tigerlily, just be careful that your OJ isn't fortified with calcium lactate, a derivative of milk, many if not most are.
Peace Love Surf.
moochbabe
Huh, in my experience, calcium lactate is usually vegan. Many companies (Follow Your Heart, Sun Flour Baking co) use vegan calcium lactate.
Really? How weird!! Maybe the book I read that in was outdated! Sorry for the bad info then!
Peace Love Surf.
moochbabe
No, it's not "bad" info at all, and I appreciate you looking out for us all (I do the same thing!) it's just that that particular supplement *is* often vegan (I believe it's cheaper for companies to *not* use cow-milk derivatives in this case).
Very cool, thank u for the info (and the encouragement) CC!
Peace Love Surf.
i eat brown & wild rice pilaf constantly. i put different seasonings in it to feel more international.
i also eat loads of fresh fruit, whatever is in season.
i love salads and cooked vegetables.
i always have french fries of some sort in my freezer, which i eat way too often.
i eat a lot of refried beans with whole beans, corn, and marinated mexican carrots mixed in. if i have tortillas then i will spread the mixture on one and roll it up with some shredded cabbage.
soup. i have boxes of soup like carrot-ginger, sweet potato, mushroom broth, creamy corn, roasted red pepper.......that i can throw in a mug and heat up. i also make a lot of my own bean soups.
i eat whole grain pastas with plain canned crushed tomatoes and olive oil on top. if i have fresh basil then i will throw some of that in. i have this at least once a week.
I eat carrots almost every day. Usually I eat them raw with some dip, but I also like to shred them in wraps and add them to any cooked dish, like rice, soups, stews, pasta etc.
I'm also addicted to Tofutti cream cheese. I purposely stopped buying bagels so I would use less cream cheese, but now I find that I like it on crackers and in wraps
