Vegan food hits Waitrose! (UK)

Hi Blue moon... I have been to that one and it is shocking!!!! There are pics of decapitated chickens and missing pigs parts everywhere!!! :O

The funny thing is their advert says "Feeling hungry?" and then they put a bacon butty pic on horrible white bread... Not hungry anymore thanks!...

Stevenage is crap, nothing available that is not in any little supermarket.
Witney is ok, some good stuff no pizza no chocolates

By the way, waitrose has special offers on Alpro soya products at the moment, the soymilk is two for £2, as are their yogurts (all varieties, in the fridge section)

I don't go to waitrose very often, it's a tad on the pricey side, but they do have some interesting items you can't get in other places.

I bought some of the new vanilla flavour Alpro in Waitrose last week. I thought it was quite nice actually.

They had sold out of the antipasti pizza though, might pop back today to see if they have restocked.

The spread was invented in Belgium, is very popular in the US and used to cost a fortune to have shipped over but thankfully Waitrose have come to the rescue! The porter is a dark style beer that can come in different flavours (vanilla, plum, chocolate and bourbon etc), chocolate is my fave though

The spread is based on speculoos biscuits; I had the spread in a Belgian hotel after noting, to my surprise, that it is vegan. Nutritionally it is on a par with chocolate spread, and it is very very yummy.
I must confess to my disappointment at learning that chocolate porter is a beer; there I was nurturing secret hopes of a vegan Baileys. Dang! *dreams on*

A Brandy Alexander cocktail is close to Baileys. It is made with equal parts vegan, chocolate liqueur, and brandy. You can use tia maria or kahlua instead of chocolate liqueur if you prefer or can't get hold of it.

Sounds good! I'm currently pregnant so will have to hold off until after the baby is born before giving this a try (and may water it down with some soya cream as I'm not much of a drinker even in my non-pregnant days!), but I tasted Baileys once and thought it was delicious and would love to have a vegan version.
