Is that a good start? (jebus that took me ages to work out

So what happened today
first I went off to the country. Daylesford is lovely, thanks for the suggestion Treehugga. and we went and had a picnic down the road at Hepburn Spa, that's where the mineral water bubbles out of the ground. Then we went for a walk up into the spring country, full of wildflowers and butterflies.
If that wasn't enough then we drove over to Hanging Rock. That's where the story Picnic at Hanging Rock was set and the movie ws made there too. It has been of symbolic auspiciosness to the Aboriginal nations for tens of thousands of years. It is thought to have been a meeting place of clans. We climbed up to the top of the place, phew that really took it out of us so we were hungry.
So now we were hungry so we drove back to the city and went to footscray. I loved it there it's like Cabramatta in Sydney, all Vietnamese everywhere, like a chinatown only Vietnam-town.
We read that there was a Veggie buddhist place there called Bo Di Trai, we found it and had yummy food. It was much like the white lotus near Victoria Markets.
Melbourne is great
Antony - it sounds like you are having a great time! I am glad Did you happen to see Miranda at the rock?
Also - those links aren't working for me
is it working now friends, Roxy?
Oh man it seesm to be working now can anyone see the photos please?
Gah! I preferred it when you had t6o click the link to see my ugly mug...
But even Serryn doesn't look all that great in that pic, prolly cause she wasn't drunk yet (it was 11am )
ETA: Now that the self-obsession has worn off, that looks like a really nice shirt your missus is wearing at Soul Mamas.
groovy manadam antichrist
yeah you both looked funny because you looked away from the camera when that famous person walked over.
Isn't Melbourne great!?! You should come and live down here.
It is great, but we have our little hearts set on QLD, the land of the gods.
Thanks for the offer though.
That's a crazy shirt, daddy-o, at the bottom of post 107. Crazy man, crazy!
Real hard threads, man. You are one cool, crazy cat.
Beat me daddy ten to the bar
Ride that riff and rock it, baby!
The adventure continued today when we went out to The Global Vegetarian at Ormond to have lunch. Then we found out it was closed all day till 5pm. So we skipped over to Soul Mama's and had more incredible food and more of that cake and soy cream that you can see in the photos below.
Later in the eveningwe went back to the The Global Vegetarian where like Soul Mama they have a variety of food from around the world. Very nice food I do declare. I had Laksa, mmmmmm.
I only have a few MELBOURNE days left so I'm looking for a few more places to pack in before I have to head back north. I still have World Vegan Day to look forward to this Sunday. Yee haar
Photos below?
Like way below in post 107 the one with the groovy shirt. The cake in the photo is particularly yummy. Especiallu when you pour the soy cream over it

Findings vege cafe is sadly no longer, the overheads were too high. It is a shame as it was run by some lovely people and I used to go there all the time, it was always full of people and the food was fab. We don't have anything in Bendigo now. It is my goal to open something myself. Could be down the track a long way though. Lovely photos you are very clever to put them on here
See you tomorrow guys, hope it's under cover cause it's pissin down at the moment
I think I am coming now
i hope not nana, you would have gotten there stupidly early.
I however, am so late I'm not going to bother.
Thanks for the photos Antony! You guys look like you all are having a great time (especially Adam and the lettuce lady ) !
Ohhhhh man that cake and soy cream looks sooooooooo good yumyumyumyumyum!!!
Yeah, thanks for sharing your pics with us, Antony - foreign correspondent.
Oh yeah, antony have you tried the hari krsna places on swanston street yet?
The Hare Krsna place on swanston street is really nothing to rave about.
Which one? There are two that I know of.
No time
back in two days
will complete the log of my journey then
Please be kind to each other
we are such a small group
we need each other more than you can imagine
Antony in a hurry
Crossways. Haven't been to Gopals.adam antichrist
I wonder what Antony did in Melbourne today
Antony has been unable to get access for the last few days and probably won't get home until tomorrow as it is a day and a half drive. He looked like he was having fun at WVD though. Boy he must have spent a fortune and good on him . It was great to see so many people and goodies for sale. It's heartening that there is now so much interest in veganism. The mango cheese cake was to die for yuuuuuuuuummm
Mango Cheesecake? Oh YUM!!! Well, I am looking forward to hearing about the rest of his Melbourne adventures. Thanks treehugga!
It's a shame we didn't organise to meet up. I only ran into Antony & Advocado which was great but could not locate anyone else in the crowd . We should have all met up for a meal at some point. Oh well, there is always next year .
Yeah that's a bit of a bummer. Well at least you got to meet a couple of other forum members! That's cool! I hope I get to meet some others one day too
I had a chance to meet Geoff when I was in Brisbane earlier this year, but family commitments kept me from being able to make it. It was the first time I'd seen my family in 3 years, so naturally they wanted me all to themselves LOL.
.
I went for like 10 minutes. I brought Odi and he was cracking the shits so I had to take him home. I didn't make it back.
I tried a vegan donut on the weekend though. A choc-jam one! I had dinner at Prontos (where the mango cheesecake is from) and then headed to the veg orgasm for dessert
Here I am nine hundred kilometres further up the road from Melbourne, Victoria and back in Sydney New South Wales.
Unfortunately for me the internet service failed in the apartment I was staying in so I couldn't post any more.
So here we go with the rest:
On Saturday for lunch we went to Pronto Bronto in Collingwood. Great Veggie Burger, best I think I have ever had. Then we had the CHEESE CAKE..... it was so gooood it should be illegal... you could get arrested just for eating it...it's sooo good it must be bad for you, real bad. Droool, drooooooool.
Then it was time for dinner. We headed over to the Vege Bar in Fitzroy. I was totally and completely unimpressed. I had what was advertised as Singapore Noodles. As I said after the first bite: "This has never even been near Singapore Noodles!" I didn't like the place either, really loud music, all crowded in like really close. As my partner said afterwards, "I was closer to the woman at the next table than I was to you!!" It was all dark too and you could hardly see what was on your plate. If you like that kind of thing
Then Sunday came and it was HAPPY VEGAN DAY. I'll make another post about that but it was GREAT.
For dinner on our last evening we went back to Shakahara in Carlton. Great food, great service, no loud music, no crowding.
The next morning we packed our bags and headed back home to Sydney.
The vegan eating scene in Melbourne Australia is fantastic. I would recomend it to anyone who had the opportunity to visit. Thanks Melbourne for putting on the Cruelty Free Expo and the World Vegan Day festival, you are a credit to all Australians.
RoxyJacqui
Thanks friends I'll sort out some of the Vegan Day shots and post them too
Thanks for letting people know why I had disapeared TreeHugga. It was great to meet you and your family. Thanks for saying hello.treehugga
Hi Adam AntiChrist, Yes we went to one of the Hare Krsna places. I don't know which one but it was as good as they get. The people were friendly and helpfula nd helped us avoid anything we didn't want to be consuming by getting us some things that weren't in the menu.adam antichrist
Nice to meet you anyway AA, I hope you pass your exams nicely and get over that hayfever soon.
Antony
Yeah sorry I didn't get to hang out with you, really wanted to go to WVD but it was just beyond my capability. Apparantly my friends got drunk and caused scenes
Was it bigger then the Cruelty Free Lifestyle expo?
The scenes must have been after I leftadam antichrist
I think it was bigger, not a great deal bigger, a few more stalls and a few more people.
Hi Antony - I'm glad you had such a great time, and enjoyed Melbourneabrennan
I am looking forward to seeing some more pictures of your travels!
Hi back at home antony.
It was so good to meet you and your partner during your time in Melb, wish we all could have caught up for longer. It's a pity you didn't head home through Bendigo you could have stopped for a scrummy vegan meal made by yours truely .
Glad you enjoyed the trip so much you have left just before the evil hot weather hit too.
AA I have developed really awful hayfever in the last couple of days too. What the hell do we do about it? The pharmacist suggested Rhinocort
(spelt wrong I know) I said no thanks I wanted a natural remedy - he thinks I'm a nutcase I'm afraid .
Now how to get that yummy cheesecake recipe from Pronto's. Hmmmm I'm sure everyone has their price
