Default Experiences as a Vegan Society Local Contact?

I've been thinking about becoming a Vegan Society Local Contact for Leicester for a while, as Leicestershire only seems to have one contact, in Market Harborough.

I'm pretty sure I can manage the essential requirements laid down by the Society, but I'd like to hear people's experiences about volume and type of enquiries they typically receive.

I'm a bit confused about the Criteria for Appointment where it says

" Mail sent to Contacts at c/o addresses to be collected and dealt with promptly" - obviously they want mail that's been sent to contacts to be answered, but who is it care of? Personally I'd be happy to get a PO Box, as they're only about fifty quid a year, but I'm not sure it meant that.

I've been to the Local Contacts Action Team site at http://www.lcat.makessense.co.uk/index.html but their forum is for people who are already signed up contacts, so I thought I'd ask you good people of your experiences first

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Twinkle little star,

Did you find this and the following FAQs

    http://www.lcat.makessense.co.uk/faq#3

And no you don't need a PO BOX, just your own address. It costs nothing to be a local contact.

Some Local contacts do loads of stuff, others do nothing. Realistically, it not much more than getting your name listed in the magazine. With LCAT we hope to make better use of the local contacts (once Council eventually agree to it!) and for the LCs to make better use of the Society?
