    3 serves vegie casserole (carrots,capsicum,pumpkin,green beans,tomatoes)

    applepie, i used to have the same problem, now i try not to even have any idea of how many calories that i consume in a day, although my nutritionist put me back onto exchanges (it provides a little of the control and keeps away the spiral that i think u avoid by knowing how much fruit and veg and such u eat)...
    having said that, so far today i've had onion, mushroom, peach, banana, like almost a pound of grapes (y not?), onion, carrots, mushrooms, lettuce, apple, a large glass of orange juice, and i haven't had dinner yet, but so far that's...14...

    I don't manage yet without the feeling that I'm still in 'control' - I'm sure you know what I mean. However, I now know that there's no point in fretting over calories, it won't make my life any better.

    So, yesterday I had:
    3 apples
    orange
    pear
    2 kiwi fruit
    1kg of carrots (yes, the whole bag! )
    cauliflower
    broccoli
    courgettes
    aubergine
    tomatoes
    pepper
    - about 17 I reckon?

    I find this thread really inspiring! So many people eating so well and such yummy things - it sometimes makes me realise how long I've not eaten a certain type of veg or fruit, and makes me want to have it again. Thanks for that!

    i most certainly understand...let me see what i had today and then i'll count it up, i'm not 100% i made it today () i'm on a surf trip so it makes it hard sometimes...
    peach, strawberries, dates, bellpeppers, tomato, carrots, onions, bean sprouts, more strawberries, spinach, 3 kinds of squash, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and a banana...wow, i had a lot more fruit and veg than i thought, that's good news...so lemme see, that's...13...whew

    Moochbabe, your day sounds yummy, as usual! You have such a variety!
    I'm stuck with the same fruit and veg now in winter as everything else is way too expensive.
    So, yesterday I had: 2 apples, 2 kiwi fruit, pear, orange, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage (white and red), lettuce, chickpeas, mushrooms, tomatoes.
    Probably about 13?

    maybe the thing u can do to get more variety is get dried fuit of all sorts. that and maybe the market near u has frozen fruit in the freezer section...

    hmm...i had a lot of things today... strawberries, banana, lettuce, carrots, sprouts, avocado, sprouts, beets, tomato, jicama, apple juice, banana, dates, strawberries, tons of different veggies at dinner (avocado, tomato, lettuce were the standards, and then there were things that were a little more outlandish and some things i cannot name becuase i cannot remember them), apples...15 at least

    I read that only one portion a day is juice, no matter how much juice you drink, because of the missing fibre (although all the other goodness is in there).

    bowl of mixed chopped fruit, tangerines, lettuce, tomato juice, more tangerines, mango (in preserve form), blueberries (a ton in the muffins i ate today), broccoli, green beans, a patty made of all different kinds of veggies, peas, strawberries, and a large apple...that comes to about...20 YEESH

    Not so often these days, but a few years ago I regularly used to eat 15+ ( sometimes even 20 ) about three times a week, containing most of the following:

    Bananas, apple, orange, melon, celery, carrot, potato, peas, sweetcorn, avocado, kiwi, prunes, dates, figs, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, leeks, tomato, lettuce, cucumber and peppers.

    okay, so yesterday I had:
    grapefruit
    2 pears
    banana
    2 satsumas
    plum tomatoes
    big salad (romaine, pepper, tomatoes, sprouts, snowpeas, sweetcorn, mushrooms)
    nibbling on loads of carrots while studying (not in the library though, they would have thrown me out )
    leftover Brussels sprout and quinoa soup
    baked sweet potato with horseradish
    baked apple stuffed with cinnamon, ginger, raisins, dates (for that Christmas feeling )
    about 15 I reckon, maybe more

    Does anybody think I eat too much fruit compared to veggies?
    I'm asking because with the "eat 5 a day" guidelines they recommend you should have 2 portions of fruit and 3 portions of veggies.
    I think my share is fairly equal, seems to be more fruit in the first half of the day, and then usually more veggies.
    Am I getting too much fruit sugar?

    lol, i have the same problem of feeling like i could've done better.
    as far as the fruit goes, it is quite alright to get as much fruit as you're getting, the sugars in fruit are different from refined sugars, they help to maintain blood sugar levels and keep them stable, and fruit is extremely important because it provides a lot of different nutrients. so no worries about the amount of fruit!

    hmmm live had one packet of crisps so far today!!! love the carbs wish my diet had far more colour in it though like all of you. Strawberrys are my fave fruit and favourite vegetable has to be the potato...so maybe my potassium levels are quite good.
