Vegan Holidays

I'm looking to go away for two weeks next June on a pretty normal beach type holiday. This isn't my usual sort of thing, as I prefer self catering and getting plenty of excercise.

I would love to find somebody that does a half board package. Does such a thing exist?

Alternatively how hard is it to buy Vegan foodstuffs abroad like beans, soya mince and so in supermarkets? Can you take bags of soya on a plane? This way it might be a bit easier to find somewhere.

You might want to have a look in the classified ads in the magazines published by the Vegan and Vegetarian Societies as I think there are usually a few places advertising half-board there - not sure how many are by the sea though. (If you can't get hold of these magazines let me know as I should be able to dig out a couple for you.)

Re buying supplies in shops you wouldn't have any trouble with "normal" ingredients like beans, lentils, pasta, nuts etc in any country that I've been to. Soy products are a different matter. I know that in France soy milk is usually fairly easy to get in supermarkets but I'm not so sure about TVP - you would probably need a specialist shop for that.

Mind you you could probably manage wiithout - it's quite fun cooking with whatever ingredients you can get in a new place, and invariably they have nicer fruit and veg than we do
