I can confirm now I am unable to make this years fair, and that will not change, I will miss it but I am involved with other plans at that time.

Typical the first one in the sun and I am not able to go, oh well I am sure it will be as brilliant as all the other ones.

    Have fun

Hi there. I don't live too far from Cardiff (about an hours drive). Nice to meet you and will see you at the fayre if not before.

Next years out doors Bristol Vegan Fayre is June 9th & 10th.

There'll be other fayres elsewhere later this year, and threads about them nearer the time.

we have looked up prices on megabus.

we'd have to get a bus from glasgow to london (9 hours) then a bus from london to bristol. eek :S so much travelling, but we dont mind cos it will only cos us £8 each.. £10 at the most.

the train is over £100 for a single from glasgow :S

    i reeeeeeeeeeally wanna go.

*sigh* I wish they'd build a bridge between the mainland and us, I never get to go to the interesting things. Although Belfast is getting more continental and craft markets these days so maybe someday we'll have a nice vegan one.

There'll probably be a Bristol Vegans (new local group) stall, so people could meet up there at certain times, though it'll be very busy both inside and out. So maybe swap mobile numbers with a few people before the day.

    79 days to go.

Is anyone staying in Bristol? Anywhere in particular? I was thinking of finding a Travel Inn as I'm quite familiar with their places. Also... maybe gertvegan can help me on this... anyone know of any good places to eat on the Friday night? Or even breakfast on the Sunday?

I'm really excited cos I was initally planning to go to the veggie festival in York the weekend before (simply cos I need to go that way some weekend soon to visit my mum). However, as amusing at it could be amongst the vegetarians I think it'll be a lot more fun cutting out the crap and being with the vegans

I stayed at the travelodge in Bristol last year - about a 10 min walk to the venue. Got my room for £26 on an offer but the Sat nights £56 at the mo no breccy but you wont need it with all the fab food at the festival

Reckon this will be the social event of the year

Not sure yet if going for the day or if staying the Sat night................

I know Gertvegan will able to fill you in on places to eat.........

Maybe try Arches Hotel and Basca Guest House (though not veggie, but vegan friendly) first.

    Try Kathmandu or Krishna's Inn.

Fresh and Wild, though they don't open until 11am on Sundays.

The guide will be updated very soon, so keep checking.

    From Yaoh.

The 4th annual Bristol Vegan Fayre is on Sat June 10th this year – 7 weeks today.

The Fayre is shaping up nicely and is on course to be once again the World’s biggest vegan event.

With about 125 stallholders, and 50 speakers and entertainers, and an expected 10,000 + crowd (if the weather’s good), it really is getting massive.

Over 100 stalls are sold now but there’s still some available, if you or any of your colleagues know of anyone who would like a stall, please do send them our way. Likewise there are still a few gaps to be filled in the talks and demos schedules. We are particularly interested to hear from anyone who works with animals and would like to do a talk/presentation. Entertainers too are welcome to get in touch.

As always, we rely mainly on word of mouth to promote the event as we don’t have a huge advertising/marketing budget. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free, so please do tell all your friends and family about the Fayre, even if you can’t make it yourselves.

For more information about the Fayre, click here http://www.yaoh.co.uk/fayre2006.htm
