    Unhappy Blue Cheese

Ever since becoming a vegan I have not found a decent cheese anywhere, but more to the point I can't find blue cheese anywhere. I'm talking Danish blue or Stilton flavour cheese. It is the one thing I would love to eat so if anyone has any idea of where I could get my hands some vegan blue cheese, let me know!

That vegan "cheese" Scheese comes in a blue cheese variety - http://www.scheese.co.uk/products.htm

Must admit I prefer the Redwood "cheese" (Cheezly) which doens't AFAIK come in a blue variety (yet) but perhaps you can do something with this!

ETA you seem to be able to buy the blue Scheese from http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-...ect/CDACH.html

My partner swears that the so-called "Cheddar" flavour Scheese tastes more like a mild blue than Cheddar, and he was an afficionado of the stuff, so he may well be onto something...

I had a look at that one, seems to be the closest I can find but slightly worried it contains hydrogenated vegetable oil in it.

I'll investigate my local shops for the cheddar product today, thanks!

I may be wrong, but I've got a feeling that all the Scheeses contain hydrogenated oil, unfortunately. Maybe buy the Redwood one and wait for it to go mouldy

It's just I was reading about hydrogenated oils and they didn't look too healthy!

I suppose it's the price i'm going to have to pay for blue cheese!

    Thankyou

Tofutti_Cutie, I avoid hydrogenated oils as well particularly since reading about their likely effects on the brain but I guess the occasional blue-cheese fix wouldn't be instantly fatal

Tofutti, by the way, seem to use them too. I used to buy their cream "cheeses" but I've stopped because of that. I believe in the US they do non-hydrogenated versions of some of their products so maybe they will be coming our way too.
