Dear Friends

For Australian residents :

On Feb 26th at Doug Jennings Park on the Spit on the Gold Coast, Animal Welfare League (Gold Coast Qld ) is having a fundraising outdoor public breakfast event. Animal Welfare League is totally funded by donations. The event is called "It's a dog's breakfast" to highlight the approx 200,000 homeless companion animals who are euthanased each year in Australia. These numbers unfortunately do not include the thousands of "surplus" greyhounds from the greyhound racing industry. Those statistics are unknown.

The event should have hopefully about 300 or more people attending. There will be wide media attention and it will be widely advertised.

The outdoor event will be from 6am to 9am on 26th Feb with
supportive guest government speakers, some celebs, street theatre possibly, a light breakfast with an excellent goodie bag etc. We will post the flyer to you when its received for details.

Animal Liberation Queensland will have a stall at the event to highlight the plight of many many thousands of other non human animals. Friends of the Hound may be there as well. It's early days in organising. We are assisting organising the event.

3 requests please

1. If you know of anyone who would like to donate a product or service toward a raffle that will be held at the event, this would be greatly appreciated.

2. If you have contacts with a well known celebrity who would like to donate their time.

3. If you can advertise this event so Animal Welfare League can have a great public attendence on the day since it is a fundraiser.

Please contact Trisha @ QGAR ethical_treatment_of_animals@oceandrop.org if you can assist the good people at Animal Welfare League.

Thanks
