    Default Cholesterol free diet?

So, there's been threads about how great various human secretions are for various vitamins, but what about cholesterol? Most vegans claim their diet is cholesterol free, but.............

If a human can consentually give a human product (such as breastmilk, semen etc) and thus be vegan to receive, if that product contains cholesterol can vegans still claim they have a cholesterol free diet?

How would someone transfer their cholesterol?

well, it's my crude understanding that animal products contain cholesterol. As humans are animals and some of us share our secretions with each other (which there have been numerous threads about on this very forum - I need not quote!), do our products also contain cholesterol?

I appologise, it's a rhetorical question - I already know that breastmilk contains cholesterol, but I'm not sure about semen. Most vegans will see the consentual sharing of products between each other as being vegan. If this is the case, then a vegan diet is not cholesterol free, as it is often quoted as being.

An anonymous person who is too embarassed to reply (you know who you are!) would like to share with us the following link: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=602887 It seems to indicate that human semen does indeed contain cholesterol.

So semen does have cholesterol, but at least it also has vitamin B12

but that's not the same as cholesterol free right? That's increasing our own cholesterol, not consuming the cholesterol of others.

Yeah, if you don't eat saturated fats, consume breast milk, or swallow other bodily fluids, then I guess you can consider yourself cholesterol free!

I eat a cholesterol-free diet. I'm not counting whatever cholesterol-containing non-food items I MAY or MAY not swallow- intentionally or accidentally- such as insects, bugs, semen

FYI- female ejaculate is similar in composition to semen (minus the sperm).

Semen is not food. It's not part of the vegan "diet".
I eat nutritional yeast by the spoonful.

Well, breastmilk is part of a vegan infant's diet. But maybe diet is the wrong word, being vegan is more about diet, so maybe I should change it to lifestyle as opposed to just diet

I don't think of semen as food...but then I don't think of animals as food either, although some do, so where does that leave us??
Oh, Mr. Flibble, this post kept me up late last night and I'm still here now!

Also remember that your body naturally controls cholesterol unless you do something major like consume meat, eggs or dairy. Consuming a bit of semen is unlikely to upset this balance.

one thing occured to me in the bath tonight......if ejaculate contains cholesterol, assuming that cholesterol isn't created for it, each time you ejaculate you're lowering your cholesterol level. Is it bad cholesterol or good? Assuming you don't re-consume your ejaculate, is it good for your health to do so as much as possible?

Your liver creates more. And there's never been any documented negative health effects of masturbation for either gender. Quite the contrary.

I was thinking last night...imagine if a teenage boy did a search on ejaculation and/or embarrassing erections(see other thread), and was brought to this forum. With all the other info, he may decide to go vegan...imagine someone asking him how it was that he went vegan...

As for the health issue, I would think it depends on your age, too much "fun" can bring on heart attacks! Mind you,if you could get rid of cholesterol that way from a young age, there would be less risk!...Would give you guys a great excuse anyway!!
