    Default Chickpea flour in smoothies

I am trying to cut down on the amount of soy in my diet and was wondering if oat milk with chickpea flour in a smoothie/milkshake would be a good protein filled replacement. Does anyone know if chickpea flour can be added to a smoothie or does it need to be cooked like other types of flour?

    My cat's nickname is Chickpea.

(I don't know if chickpea flour has to be cooked, but if you want to add protein to your shakes, I think ground up nuts would taste better.)
I eat nutritional yeast by the spoonful.

ive no idea but chickpea (gram) flour smells a bit 'strong' to me so it may leave a 'taste' to a smoothie?? ground almonds sounds a good idea or any ground nuts...

at least it says on the bag of chick peas that I have, that they should never be eaten raw, but always boiled (after soaking).don't know if it would be different with the flour, but it could be potentially harmful...

Maybe try buckwheat flour, buckwheat has good protein, although the taste takes some getting used to.

You must enjoy Chick peas in curry form or water soaked with lime and tomatoes.. rather than in Smoothies. You can veg. Omlette with Chick peas flour too.

Thanks for your responses everyone. I originally got the idea from a carton of rice milk with added chickpeas (for protein) that I bought some time ago and it tasted really good.

A friend has just brought some instant quinoa powder from Sydney so I'll use that instead. I would love to know how to make a vegan omlette using chickpea flour (sounds great!)
