Thread: Soya pieces in Austria...!

  1. #1

    Default Soya pieces in Austria...!

My boyfriend ate some over there- and the people who cooked him the pieces said they would be in England almost certainly. He said it was better than tofu- no rubber texture- but not as soft as something like Quorn.
Any help much appreciated, I'm looking at any Austrians out there!!

texturised soya you can find nearly anywhere in the uk (I think!), check in health food shops. comes in small granules ('mince'), or bigger chunks, or large pieces ('fillets').

but maybe that's not what you are looking for? it just sounds like texturised soya on your description, but, i'm no austrian =)

i think it's common thing. we have it in every supermarket on health-food department. they are in various sizes, from thumb size to half-palm size, and in various packages. i'm using it regularly with beans or sauerkraut or cale. all kind of stews. also grinded with various grains and spices for ''burgers''.

I think he said it was the pieces of soya bean that are left.
    If that makes any sense?!
Maybe like the shells of the beans?
Thanks for your help! I looked at Holland and Barratt, but thats it so far.
