This may have already been posted as while I've searched as best I can on the forum, I don't know how to search on the phrase "Blue Dragon" rather than "Blue" and "Dragon" not necessarily contiguous in the text.

I've just noticed (how many years after it happened) that some Blue Dragon products in my local supermarket are labelled "Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans". Of three products in the supermarket, the Lemon stir-fry sauce, and the Thai chili dipping sauce were vegan. The oyster sauce, unsurprisingly, wasn't. I will definitely be checking out other things that they sell.

Yep, I buy Blue Dragon stuff.
If only more companies had a decent labelling policy they would realise they can make themselves more money and make our lives a lot easier.

Can you report back if you find anything about the ethics of Blue Dragon!!
I buy their sauces, they're a little rich but if you add it to a large stirfry its pretty good- or only a small amount to tofu.

Yeh just don't get the crispy noodles!!!!!!!! They have started putting milk and beef in them and they didn't used to. Was *almost* very unfortunate!

you'd think they used the same recipe for all their satay, no? maybe because one is in mls, it's more liquid and has fish sauce in it or something?

Hmm, I have had a moment.

I used to buy the Blue Dragon Won Ton soup a long time ago. But then my local store switched from a vegetable one to an unsuitable version (prawn or chicken) so obviously I stopped buying it.

Then recently I noticed that the Won Ton soup was a vegetable one again. Hurrah! But wait: the ingredients list the ambiguous "chicken flavour" and so without any mention on the label of it being vegetarian I did not buy it.

That was until I saw this thread and the claim the soup is vegan. With only the one questionable ingredient, and enough experience to believe it does not mean actual chicken, I decided the risk was worth it. Hurrah! But wait.

When I opened the can I noticed it had tiny meaty like bits in it. Checking the label I saw that the second ingredient listed was "soybean protein". So TVP type stuff then. Not something I particular like but just to be sure I split open one of the won tons to be sure it was not a mislabeled can.

Inside where much bigger meaty like pieces. Maybe they are are very good at creating a meat style texture, but between my rising doubt and lack of fondness I just could not eat it.

So, had anyone had the "Won Ton Soup 5010338013288" and is it supposed to be like that? And if it is, is it nice?

I am fairly sure it never used to be like that, but as Blue Dragon just seem to repackage items imported from the far east it would not surprise me if it is a totally different product in the same packaging.

i know this is bit of old thread but i was wondering if anyone had the won ton soup it says in animal free shopper that it suitable for vegans so i bought it but then getting it home it doesnt even say vegetarian on then reading the ingredients it says chicken flovourings so is it suitable or not im confused
