I have been reading through your discussions and this sounds like a great site! I am just starting to eat vegan, but I really also need to lose weight. (about 30 pounds) I have times when I travel alot, and that seems to get in the way of exercise, but that is really just an excuse. My plans this week are:
Eat several small meals a day, up to 1800 calories
Go to the gym and do cardio at least 5 times this week
Free weights at least 3 times this week
Quit smoking next Saturday (hardest goal of all)

I got on the scale today, and I have lost another 2 pounds. In total that's now 10 pounds!! I went shopping today and it was nice to be able to buy clothes that fit me nicely.

Giving up smoking is not too hard if you keep yourself busy and avoid those social smoking triggers and remember to reward yourself with all that extra cash you'll be saving.

I had been being good and eating sensibly and exercising and then it all went out the window and I haven't weighed myself yet but I'm pretty sure I have put on all the weight I lost.
Today is a new day and I am getting organised, doing more, working towards my future, exercising and eating well!
So far I have had:
B - cup of tea, 2 weetabix with soay milk
snack - one slice of raisin bread with marg and 2 glasses of water
Lunch - not that hungry so ate some strawberries
Have run up and down stairs 8 times, done 50 sit ups, done some squats and did 70 skips.
Will take dogs for walk later when it is cooler. Plan to drink more water and maybe a cup of tea, eat some strawberries if I get hungry and then this eve will be doing something with Tofu for dinner, will try and add in a decent amount of veg.
I have written some letters and done a bit of housework. Need to do a bit more housework and a few other bits.
Am pleased so far as have been reasonably motivated.
Sorry to hear of your loss Treehugga - you are doing ever so well, don't worry about a few bad days.

I'm starting to be able to fit into more and more of my old clothes which is a plus.. so I guess that means I've lost some weight?
I am trying to motivate myself to get back into running. I had done so well in the fall and then working out everyday this past semester at the gym buutt its insane how quickly you lose it. I dont have a new gym membership and it seems somewhat pointless to get it for a month and a half now... so I'm gonna try and just force myself to go out to the track most days and figure out when its not being used. I'm applying to this study abroad program in Kenya right now and they have an international marathon when I would be there - I think it would be amazing to train for that (its a little under a year away) but man would I have to start building myself up again now!! So we shalll seee - first I have to get into the program!

I'm trying to do this "new thing" were I only eat when hungry. I know a lot of weight loss advice suggests not doing this actually--to eat small portions continually throughout the day. Well, I can't eat small servings, I have bingey issues. So now I only eat when hungry. Seems to be working well so far!
