    I have been really tired this week...didn't go to work out today, or last wednesday. I am trying now for this wednesday. we will see...

    Off to sleep now I suppose...getting late, and I have to get up in 7 hours 20 minutes...

    My girlfriend and I rented a tandom bike the other day. Its was really fun, but I think I did most of the pedeling.

    All over PEI. It's the old train tracks. I guess it's only creepy if you're a girl alone. I never heard any stories, just the murder of that girl. *I* just find it creepy. If you go with your boyfriend in the day time, I'm sure it would be fine.

    blast!!! i did well yesterday and then at the end of the night after i had already eaten a really good dinner, i went and had two stonerific bowls of cereal.. [hemp granola, almond milk, cashews, pecans, flax, raisins and banana]


    ugh! oh well today is a new day and i'll make up for it in exercise...

    I miss my bike. It was stolen shortly after I brought it down to Texas...Austin has great bike trails and I can't ride any of them since my bike was taken. Stupid thieves!

    I haven't done squat since Friday. Also have not had much of an appitite so i suppose it's good I don't want to move. i was hoping to have lost more weight before my surgery but it's looking like it will not happen. I will have to work extra hard after my recovery

    It also doesn't help that I am spending so much time with my new boyfriend. haha. that keeps me occupied so i don't seem to have time to go to the gym.

    Food has been pretty simple - raw nuts, apples and oranges and chopped fresh veggies. Have had some pasta and rice occasionally. The boy bought me some salad mix on sunday so I can finally have some greens! that is on the menu for today

    I'm eating semi-healthily lately, and exercising slightly more. Just 100 situps a day, but that's better than 50 last week. I still want to get some pilates DVDs to get my abs in shape.

    I'm eating more raw food again, but today was my first all raw day in quite a while. I didn't eat much today, but I feel fine. Probably because I had so much orange juice, which always fills me up

    Breakfast: juice of 6 freshly squeezed organic oranges
    Lunch: banana and cherry pie larabar
    Snack: 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice (at school, non-organic)
    Supper: lots of fresh veggies dipped in CC's raw goddess dressing

    I hope to do at least 100 situps tonight, if not 200. Wish me luck!

    i ended up getting around 700 calories cause i dont have much of an appetite right now, but ill probably eat more tacos before i go to bed.

    its really easy to figure out the calories of non-processed foods. i just use fitday. but thats good that you dont obesessively count calories jem noone should!

    Today I had wholemeal vegan pancakes with maple syrup.
    Sourdough seed salad sandwich.
    veg curry with kale, potato, sweet potato,onion, celery, peas, lentils, carrot with hoemmade wholemeal chapatis.

    I only have 30 grams to lose and I'm down to my 70kg. I can nearly touch my weight loss present.

    definitely great job treehugga! so, what are your secrets

    yesterday:

    lunch:
    -2 tacos
    snacks:
    -chips
    -watermelon

    tons of water and some tea also. oh and a black coffee.

    this was around 900 calories.

    today:

    snack:
    -handful chocolate chips
    lunch:
    -few spoonfuls baked beans in tomato sauce
    snack:
    -watermelon
    -cup of chocolate soy milk
    dinner:
    -probably some tacos (made with taco shells, refried beans, salsa, corn and lettuce)
    -and some popcorn while we play mario party

    also lots of water and maybe some tea.

    this is around 900 calories.

    i need to be eating more but ive just been so depressed about my weight i cant seem to eat more. maybe ill eat some of my leftover chips to up my calories more.

    i lost 3 pounds of water.

    Well I've always had the exercise thing down pat (5-6 days per week of intensive cardio and weights) but my diet let me down. Recently I watched the Aussie Biggest Loser (not usually into reality tv but thought what the heck) and it inspired me. I was also sick of feeling tired all the time and being dragged down by terrible pmt. So now I make sure my day is really healthy and I have lots of fruit and veg and a protein shake. I've pretty much cut out eating late, but if really hungry I let myself have a piece of toast but this is now rare. I've cut my portions down gradually and eat lots of wholemeal stuff. Basically I've cut out all the crap.
    I was 76 kilos at Christmas now I'm down to 71. 6 to go to reach goal weight. For the first time in a long time I feel like I'm winning.

    Had a really busy week, not been to the Gym or swimming at all . But have been working on my house so i feel that i've at least been productive and not just sat on my ass

    My eating habits have improved no end, and continue to do so. Started eating whole cereal breakfast which i f has stopped me snacking during the mornings.

    I think i should have more variety though tend to eat similar foods - oven roasted tofu being my staple food at the moment

    Not sure if said before i weighed myself last week (first time in about 12mths) i was only about 5/6lbs over my target weight; although there will be a bit more fat than that to lose as i will gain muscle with training
    I dont get crunchy people?

    Well done VBB. Decorating/renovating is going to burn lots of calories for sure. Plus the fact if youve had a stressful day at work and you are working towards a goal in the evenings/weekends its going to make you happier than walking on a treadmill. I cant wait to see your place. Can you post pics so we can see before/during and after?

I need to get back on track in that aspect, otherwise i do great [both exercise and eating wise!] this MUST be the only thing really keeping me from seeing results, so it's gotta go. I know i posted on the late night snack thread for advice, but then i figured i should just post here.. so yeah. i posted that twice. Any advice for cutting out the late night snacks? I think i just need to grab that determination and hold onto it and once i'm finished with dinner i am DONE for the night. Today i will make day 1 of the eating well.

    Heehee, just kidding...sort of . I find that if I eat more during the day (not just at dinner), I am not as hungry late at night.

    But to be honest, on most nights I go to sleep with my stomach growling. I tend to burn through anything I eat in a few hours and then my stomach is growling again. I like to sleep on an empty stomach though, I wake up feeling better and sleep better too.

    Oh, other tips - brush your teeth a little bit before when you want to start snacking. Drink a big mug of herbal tea. Take a bath, go for a walk, or just keep busy with something else. Make sure you put all your food from dinner away - so not to be tempeted by leftovers. Tell yourself you can eat whatever you are craving for breakfast. Drink lots of water after dinner.

    Great job veganbikerboy!

    I had an OK week. I was pretty busy with work, but managed to get about 7 hours of sleep a night. I went to work out Wednesday night - weights routine, and 18 minutes of incline walking (too tired to try for longer).

    I ate some junk food, but tried to watch how much I ate and felt like I ate an OK ammount.

    I also managed to avoid coffee all week! I have been drinking too much of the stuff.

    I haven't shifted in weight since last week, so that's a plus.

    I think I must be the worlds most chronic night time snacker and that was my problem too. I still have something if I really feel hungry. I believe your body gets used to eating something at certain times and mine was well adapted to night time snacks. I usually eat fruit like an apple and some grapes after dinner or I have a small handful of walnuts and 2 dates - feels like ive had something lushious without all the fat. It's about retraining your body. A smoothie is also a good choice or a soy chai latte. I gradually cut down on my food bit by bit until I was no longer craving the nightly binge on junk. To cut it all out suddenly will just make your body feel like you're starving and if your like me you won't sleep and will just feel jittery. If I need to eat at night I just make sure it's healthy and I don't over indulge.

    Well, I didn't weigh myself for about a week, and today I got on the scale and it said that I had lost 3 pounds Finally!!!

    Today:

    1556 calories
    18% fat
    268 carbs
    51g protien

    Okay, i'm posting these goals for the week. I hope by doing this i will be able to work towards them easier [if that makes sense]:

    -Eat healthy [try to eliminate nighttime snacking.. for good!]
    -get lots of water
    -get lots of sun and fresh air
    -get lots of exercise [>30 mins day of decent heartrate]
    -get lots of sleep

    Hopefully i can do this. Lately it seems like i keep falling back into the night time pig out mode. its so annoying and really makes me just LOOOOOVE my reflection.

    I wanted to go back to the gym to day but my husband wont let me He says its too soon after the op. Hes taken the day off to keep an eye on me. Which means its ok for me to do housework and help him with the business, but not ok to do 20 mins on the treadmill Men!

    Ashley - I think you gave me your nighttime food cravings...I usually don't eat late at night (allthough I love to eat, I don't like going to sleep on a full stomach so I avoid it). Well, last night I ate a homemade wholewheat Banana Flax Almond muffin at like 1:30 AM.

    Thanks Foxy and Wildflower It feels good to know that all of this hard work has been for SOMETHING!! I wasn't sure that scale was ever going to move!

    Any reason for the ciders Foxy? A celebration perhaps? Or just feeling like a couple of drinks? On my day off calorie counting this past week, I had a passionfruit mojito. YUM!!! I wanted 2 but it was only lunchtime, so I thought I'd better stop at 1 lol.

    I did pretty well today, but i do wish i had eaten my dinner earlier. I didn't get around to making my salad until like 8 pm. Ugh! But at least it was a salad.. and not oatmeal or cereal or cookies etc etc. So i did good. I also got off my ass and went for a 20 minute jog, as well as random biking around town to run my errands. I ended the night with a big mason jar of water. Tomorrow my roommate and I are going to the YMCA to work out, and I think I am also going to be moving a lot of my crap home so that's a workout in itself.. um... yeah. so yeah. rambling!!! i hope to get TONS more exercise this week. tons. TONS.

    So far today I have gotten a TON of exercise. I had bookbag SWAT today for two hours and was standing, chasing kids who tried to get by and so on...I am so tired now. (We have to check bags for prohibited items during finals week) Then I walked the .5 mile to the back of the school 3 times, so that is 3 miles walking today. Ewie.

    Was hoping to post here on this thread more regularly but been feeling really down and fed-up. Since changing to vegan diet two months ago I had only used my inhaler twice as opposed to 3 times a day!!! Now though I'm fighting the urge to use it and I know that's not a good idea!! But I was looking back to what had changed recently and the only thing I can think is that at the beginning if I had any bread it was wholemeal. Now I seem to be eating more white bread and have been drinking about 3 cups of black coffee a day
    So today I have had only fruit smoothies and doing the same tomorrow. ( a kind of detox ) I'm starving though but won't give in and my throat is really burning.

    poppy, im sorry your asthma is bothering you. (thats what you have right?) i have asthma too, and i know what you mean. definitely try to switch back to wholemeal bread, and great job with the smoothies! youll feel better in no time! dont shy away from taking your inhaler. its the only thing that will help you to feel better when you dont feel well enough!

    i also spent 2 hours cleaning the garage. phewwwwwwww. im all sweaty and red faced and feel so hot and tired. i must have lost two pounds just doing that LOL.

    Foxytina thank you. It is asthma yeh. I thought I'd cracked it for good but sadly no. Could be the weather it's been damp and cold recently. This morning I feel like I'm breathing through a straw but not as wheezy, and you're right I will use my inhaler later if it doesn't improve. I ended up making a salad last night as well but still healthy. Definately no white bread for me if you think that'd help. Catch you later.

    vitamin c is apparently really good for asthma, so make sure you eat your oranges/berries/bell peppers, and also make sure youre getting enough good fats in your diets, they also help asthma alot. like seeds and nuts. i know EXACTLY what you mean by breathing through a straw. god i hate that feeling. tea always helps to open up my airways, and eucalyptus helps alot too.

    WHOA okay, i had two horribly unhealthy days [lets just use the term 'vegan junkfood' ] and i'm ready to get back on track. This weekend I'm totally alone since all my friends are going camping [and i can't go because i'm POOR! hm] so hopefully i get some exercise and eat really healthy. i hope. i can do this!
