    hows everyone doing?

    i pretty much know what im going to eat today, so this is what i plan on eating. i plan on eating pretty light today.

    today:

    breakfast:
    -watermelon
    lunch:
    -watermelon
    dinner:
    -bowl of homemade vegetable/lentil/brown rice/bean soup
    -baked potato w/ 'cheese' sauce and v. bacon bits
    -oj w/ calicum

    I am starting out good today...after a lot of really really bad days. Despite no sleep, I am doing a stability ball workout and am going to the gym to use the eliptical. Probably 30 mins. unless the sleepless catches up to me.
    Breakfast: waffles with strawberries and soy sausage, two cups of OJ
    Lunch: soy hot dog, baked beans, medium sized salad
    Dinner: steamed green beans, carrots, broccoli and roasted corn with herb butter. (Earth balance with rosmary and thyme) and a quinoa pilaf thingy.

    I just did 15 minutes of jumping to sort of make up for the 5 cookies I ate.

    I've been eating well lately, but not hitting the gym due to lack of time and not feeling well.

    I feel like taking a walk right now, so I may do that. I'd rather go to the gym, though. It's around 95 degrees out right now.

    I weighed myself a couple of days ago, for the first time in about 2 and a half weeks. In total I have now lost 8 pounds. This is really good!!

    Talia, that's why I have to get up at the asscrack of dawn to do my exercise, because it's just too hot! Actually it's the humidity that sucks the life out of me, sweat doesn't evaporate in it.

    Awesome Roxy!

    J - yeah, that's why I passed up training for a half marathon taking place in Virginia Beach on Labor Day. A)I've never been a runner and don't want my first experience to be in the heat and humidity of the south and B)There will be training for another one all the time, so I can sign up to do one for the fall/winter.

    Also why I used to get up at 5am everday to exercise - I hate hot weather. Of course, I was going to the air conditioned gym, but still...

    God you said it $180.00 for nine sessions which come out 20 dollas a session. But I gotta keep it up. I cant just go 9 sessions and disapear. My teachers awesome though.

    Thanks guys To lose the weight, I admit I have been calorie counting, but in this way, it's easier for me to control portion size. I eat anywhere between 1600 and 1800 calories per day, and keep my fat intake to less than 30% (ususally it's between 20 - 25%).

    The only exercise I get is by walking to work 2 or 3 days a week, and my Yoga class once per week.

    wow roxy!!! GREAT JOB.

    roxy you sure are lucky to beable to lose weight on that many calories. i screwed up my metabolism a long time ago and have to eat really light in order to lose any weight at all. it really sucks! (if i eat around 1500 calories i gain weight really fast.)

    we all seem to be making good progress lately! im so proud of us all

    for the first time of my life ive been losing weight without being obessesive about it. i just eat when im hungry now and it feels great to beable to do that.

    It sucks to pay that chunk, but man, $20/session is not bad! At least compared to what I have found around here. I need someone to help me do things the right way and show me what to do, then I can do it on my own and just meet up with a trainer once a week or so. I search for one every once in awhile, but have not found anything I am comfortable with yet.

    Way to go, Foxy! You are doing well, keep up the good job!

    Thanks Foxy I guess because I move around a lot during the day and spend all day on my feet at work, my body might also need more calories to do what it has to.

    definitely! the most im on my feet is doing things around the house! no wonder i gain weight on so little calories. i think thats also why i dont get hungry much!

    Has anybody been on a fast of any kind? Im thinking of going on one. Wondering if you think its healthy or if anyones done it before. I was looking at a juice fast, is there any others?

    I have done a juice fast for up to six days. I always juice my own or use Naked Juices...(its a brand here in the US) which are 100% juice and are thick smoothie-ish juices with lots of pulp. I work my way to clear juices by the third day and then work back up to pulpy juice...

    i went to minneapolis. i didnt lose any weight whilst on the trip, but i didnt gain any either so i guess thats good.

    It's good you didn't gain foxytina! I always gain weight when away from home
    I haven't had much of an appitite the past few days. Lack of sleep and such, but I have been doing ball workouts and such every day. Today was a cleaning day though and I didn't make it to the gym...so it's my rest day I suppose. I am trying to actually make food...instead of grab whatever is around. I made poppyseed banana bread in my bread maker, it's low in fat and calories and is super yummers.
    I had toast with that bread and a little peanut butter on it this monring and a large salad for lunch with baked beans.
    I am making http://veganfeastkitchen.blogspot.co...tofu-soup.html for dinner tonight. It looks so good!
    I may end up going swimming a little later actually...who knows?

    I went on my camping trip last weekend, it rained all day Saturday so it was hard to hike and stuff (slippery) and then they forecasted hail and high winds so we left Satuday night.

    I got quite the workout on Friday, lugging all of our stuff downstairs and into the car, then unpacking it and putting up a tent all my myself! I was soooo sore! Oh, and then I got to lug it back home and upstairs, but I had help for that.

    Haven't gained or lost, and still haven't gone to the Y forever. I wanted to start again this week, but I am home sick with a bad headache (migraine?) and cold like thing (stuffy, swollen glands).

    I might take next week off of work for vacation...not sure, but definately taking this Friday and next Monday, and Tuesday is a holiday for us here in the US (Independence day)! Yea for holidays!

    Foxytina - Did you have time to eat at any great vegan places in MN?

    no but the meals at the hilton were more than happy to prepare us vegan meals!

    i got lots of exercise too. walking around constantly, lugging around luggage, etc. it was so annoying. its nice to just sit now LOL.

    ive walked alot for the past two days but ate crap.

    monday:

    lunch:
    -veggie burrito, mexi fries and icetea
    dinner:
    -2 veggie burgers and a couple drinks

    tuesday:

    lunch:
    -few chips, 2 gluten free pancakes w/ butter, syrup and strawberries. and a baked potato w/ vegan cheese sauce and bacon bits and salsa
    dinner:
    -veggie burger, fries, diet pop, and 2 strawberry daquries
    later:
    -like 6 ciders lol.

    now im crawling around and cant freakin breathe worth sh*t.

    today i ate soup and cereal so far.

    I meant to tell you, I recently came accross a website that lists foods good for asthma - one of them was fish, so not a vegan site per se, but they say to avoid dairy and eggs...

    Anyway, it listed some things I hadn't heard of, like Rosemary - I went out a got some fresh organic rosemary for my salads!

    im good. i just drank cause my bestfriend has moved back so we drank for a couple nights to celebrate

    i knew about the dairy, eggs, and wheat/gluten (they say thats bad too) but i never knew about the rosemary, ginger and tumeric! thanks wildflower

    Okay, I'm a few ounces shy of 152. My short term goal is 140 and my long term goal is 130ish. I think I'm going to follow Weight Watchers plan and healthy eating. And I will exercise every day!

    Talia - it's great to hear you fit into a pair of jeans. to me that is the ultimate, since I have about 4 phases of pants...fat, large, almost there, and yay for me. I am in large right now.

    Tigerlily - weight watchers really helps! A friend of mine has lost twenty pounds on the core plan!

    Hey guys, just thought I'd jump in here with some advise that Im sure you've gotten a bunch already:

    1) eat often, like 5 or 6 times a day, equal mall meals; this will speed anyone's metabolism up greatly after two weeks, trust me.

    2) exercise is more important to weight loss than anything: you can only lose so much by diet alone, and nothing will break that plateau other than cardio.

    3) if you're exercising and eating less, and more often but not losing anymore weight, start eating a little bit more, not a lot, but just enough (100-200 more cals per day) so that your not ravenous before your next meal...I swear to god the pounds will melt off!

    4) eat your salads, fruit, or veg at every meal. This added roughage increases the thermic effect of your food and will make you lose more weight.

    5) Good luck! You are all taking a path few people i the industrialized world even consider, thanks for taking care of yourselves.

    Today I had the day off and never made it to the gym...I am so disapointed in myself.

    i haven't gone to the gym in like a month, haven't started gaining any weight back YET that I know of, i am still not weighing daily because I am too afraid to see the numbers - LOL!

    I am trying to shift my meals so I eat a larger breakfast and a light dinner (like soup or a salad). Keep going to the store and spending a ton and then realizing I have no food! I hate when that happens.

    Need to lose about 10 to 15 pounds by the end of the summer...at work I get to wear jeans for the summer and I would like to fit back into my dress clothes when I have to wear them in september. I think they may fit if I lose 10 lbs, I was about 15-20 lbs lighter when I bought them...

    *sigh*

    My goals for the week -

    - Eat more calcium - I am small framed and pale skinned, and my grandmother had osteoperosis - yet I seem to think I am not at risk because I lift weights or something...I don't know, I have calcium chews and never remember to take them.
    - Eat fruits and veggies as my primary food group instead of grains.
    - Drink more water...haven't been drinking enough lately
    - cut coffee down to just a few times a week (i think i may have an ulcer or something, coffee and alcohol make my stomach feel like i did a bizillion sit-ups. *sigh* again)
    - Get back to lifting weights and try to do some yoga and walking! I need to ~s t r e t c h~ I should go do some yoga right now! I think I will actually, and burn some eucalyptus oil and just chill.

    I haven't had a good couple of weeks. Illness and a friends death hace effected my diet and exercise and I have put on another kilo.

    However I'm back into it.

    Today

    Exercise 1 60 minute session of Body Combat

    Food - B- porridge
    L- mushroom bruchetta
    sn- apple, mandarine, kiwi fruit
    D -Thai curry and jasmine rice
    green tea,kuchca tea, chai, white tea, grape juice and lots of water.
