for more exercise, i packed most of my sisters stuff in the garage. now i just have like 10 boxes of stuff she has to go through herself to see if she still wants all of it. plus i cleared the way for all the big stuff to be moved out.

weve got a week left and everythings pretty much done!

no wonder my body is aching so much. so much exercise and packing and lifting!

i just calculated the nutritional info of my homemade soup. its 66 calories per cup, with 3 grams of fiber, 3 grams of protein, and tons of vitamins and minerals. woohoo! i can eat this all the time since its so low in calories, yet so high in fiber protein and nutrients!

    Morning All

Your homeade soup sounds great Foxy! I need to make more homeade stuff.

    Yesterday:

    Banana
    Organic taters and veggie bacon
Coffee w/ silk creamer and organic sugar
Beans, brown rice, mixed greens and salsa wrapped up in a spinach tortilla
    WW Bagel w/tofutti cc
3-4 cups of organic soy milk (chocolate - I know not so good with all that sugar)
    Lots of water

    Today:

WW bagel w/tofutti cc and coffee w/ silk creamer and organic sugar
Fruit smoothie w/ strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and oj
Soup - Lentil w/ added kidney beans and brown rice
Huge mixed green salad w/ green pepper and carrots, small amount of green goddess dressing mixed with a teaspoon of flax oil

I plan on going for a walk/run or my teo-bo vid today

Will check in later! Good Luck today and get movin!

i have got off to a bad start

Spent all day drinking yesterday (how many calories in 10pints of lager?) the only thing i could eat while out was chips.

Got home today hungover, no food in house, so had chips and veggie sausages for tea - never mind gives me more weight lose! my stats will look more impressive

and i got nicked for speeding today

Antonia - I got a bit larger at first. I think I was having too many carbs or something. It sorted itself out after a while.
Thanks Tabitah, it's really comforting to know I'm not the only one that's happened to.

Tiggerwoo, it's great to hear that the sleeping less thing seems to be working. (I still need to work on that).

I've been away for the weekend (went to Cornwall for the Eden Project) and found it very hard to find vegan food, nevermind healthy vegan food. I really noticed the effect eating rubbish had on my body. It's really motivated me to be extra healthy this week and made me appreciate the freedom I have at home. I just thought I'd catch up on here before planning my weeks shopping and recipes, and it's been very inspirational. Thanks guys and gals!

That sucks!! Sorry about your speeding ticket VBB. That always puts a damper on ones day. At least you know tomorrow probably won't be as high on the suckage scale as today was?

Looks like you are having a fabulous day foxy. I am finding that natural peanut butter is growing on me the more I eat it. But I would love any kind of nut butter I think. They are so delicious!

I did an hour (well actually 61 mins. yes that extra minute MATTERS!!) on the treadmill earlier. Go me for not being a total lazy butt today. Stuff I've eaten so far:

    1/2 a raw coconut/cashew butter/date ball
    1/2 a piece of mousaka
1/2 a piece of this mexican cornbread bean/rice/tofu/tomato/chili concoction type square
1/2 a spelt bun w/ about 2 teaspoons of peanut butter (see i'm really trying to be good here)
1/2 a veggie burger on 1/2 a spelt bun (I dunno wtf is going on. it must be half price sunday in my land...)
1 cup coffee w/ some sugar and silk creamer + 1 cup of green tea w/ some agave nectar
some sea veggie salad and a killer cabbage/almond yumsalad
    1 spelt bun
Total cals today: 1200 That might seem like too little to you guys but I was a gluttonous pig during the first half of the week. It will do me some good to live on less for a while I could probably live off my own fat stores for quite some time on a desert island. I'll just tell people that when I get the old desert island question from the omniz who think they are clever. Hopefully I won't have these fat stores to live offa much longer though. I really do need to buckle down and shed some pounds immediately if not yesterday.

Alrighty I'm posting this so that I will feel more obliged to stick to all of it - funny how that happens.

    Goals:

Cut out most wheat like my holistic nutritionist suggested.

Eat more of a high protein high fiber low fat low high starch carb type diet. i.e. focus of fruits, veggies, tofu and other soy products, and soynuts/sunflower seeds/butter.

When my gym membership and personal training run out at the end of this month (eventhough ill be on my feet waitressing most of the time and I walk everywhere in the city usually 20-30min. walks at a time to get most places) buy a smaller pilates ball and stick to the regimine based on body weight that my pt sets up for me to do on my own. dont lose muscle!!

FoxyTina, you mentioned somewhere (maybe not in this thread as i can't find it) that you use FitDay to calculate your daily fiber/protein, etc.

Well, I just signed up and entered a few foods!

    thanks for the tip.

    hi wishin!

    great day tofurky!

wildflower, thats great. i love fitday too

so this is what i ended up eating today. i know, im bad, i had veggie dogs!

    breakfast:
-2 slices rice toast w/ natural peanut butter
    snacks:
    -kiwi
    -1/2 strawberry smoothie
    -few peices of almonds
    dinner:
    -4 veggie dogs

i ended up with 1430 calories (too many for my liking, especially for a day with no exercise) 23 grams of fiber (definitely not enough today!) and 85 grams of protein.

i need to do my exercise videos, but i cant because the living room is full of boxes and theres nowhere to lay down to do them! so the only exercise i can do is walking for right now. i need to up that. the boxes will all be gone in a week though so yay

You had a really good day Foxy! Don't feel bad about the veggie dogs. I love eating veggie dogs and burgers when I am trying to cut back on my calories because you can feel so full on so few calories! I am thinking of trying as high raw as possible tomorrow because I do feel great when I eat a high percentage raw. I noticed during my few raw food day experiments is I could eat more calories and still lose weight, probably faster than when I just restrict calories and eat cooked foods. I am just so lazy and my mom makes way too much yummy vegan cooked food to resist.

i want to try to eat mostly raw today.

i dont really have much though...

the only raw foods i have are kiwis and carrots. i have frozen strawberries. and some canned veggies. i know, those arent raw. sigh. i wish i had more raw food.

i guess ill just have to eat healthy for now, rather than raw.

TFZ + Foxy you both mention eating raw for the day, never done this. Just wondered why you do it, how often and the benefits?

i am terrible for eating processed foods, tend to 'eat on the run' all the time.

although i haven't got an eating problem, food is a problem as i am so busy and never make the time to prepare proper meals.

bikerboy, a pint wont hurt, as long as you eat healthy the rest of the time and drink lots of water to make up for it! great job with your meals

i am very interested in raw foodism, and always have been. its very beneficial to your health in many ways. even just upping your intake of raw foods is really beneficial. look around on this website. theres tons of info and recipes.

I went to the gym tonight but I had a crappy workout...no energy!

Last Monday I had a GREAT workout, I was an animal! So I went to look at what I ate that day, but didn't post it.

Anyway, I did 2 sets of weights on all the machines (10 in total). Then I did stretching/ab work. Then i did incline walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes, but I was sooo tired and my heart rate was much higher than normal.

I tried to get lots of protein/fiber today, but I forgot my water bottle at home, so didn't drink much at work (usually have at least 1 liter). I drank before work, and finally late in the afternoon I gave in and took a styrafoam cup (all they have at work) so I could have a drink, and when I left I had to make a stop at the HFS and purchased a 1.5 liter, which i drank down on the drive to the gym, and while and the gym. But maybe it was too late.

I also didn't sleep well last night, and was absolutely exhausted over the weekend from having to drag my ass out of bed and login remotely to my company to do work.

Congrats on even making it to the gym Wildflower!! You are a trooper in my eyes for that alone. Hopefully you will feel more rested and energized tomorrow, feeling dragged down and tired is never fun.

Tigerlily kudos to you on your walk. Was it a beautiful day in your neck of the woods as well?

I want some of those tofu tacos now Foxytina.

    Stuff I ate:

    2 oranges
    2 kiwis
    some vanilla soy yogurt
2 muffins (1 w/ some peanut butter on top..)
    1 bun + 1 burger + 1/2 a smushed up avocado
some organic mixed baby greens w/ balsamic dressing
eggplant mousaka (i could say mousaka all day long and never get bored)

Total Cals: 1695 bad bad girl! My only saving grace is that I went for a 90 min walk today because it was just too damn gorgeous outside not to!

I've enrolled the help of my bf. I went to the gym with him yesterday and did his workout (but with lighter weights). I've also started a food diary which he wants to see every evening. I'm looking forward to being rewarded for my efforts.

at least you still went i have a terriable habit that if i feel a bit crappy i don't go at all.

I have got falaffel sarnies on wholemeal bread for lunch, which is good. But out for dinner tonight for a friends b'day (a restaurant with the most fantastic vegan food ever).

might try and finish work a little early and go for a swim

I'm so excited about this! I've been dying for a workout buddy here, but can't find one. Now I can have many buddies for encouragement.

Since I got the new dog, I've been getting up when my bf goes to work at 4:30. I walk the dog and then 3 days a week, I hit the gym for heavy strength training. When I get home at night, my bf and I take the dog on a long walk.

Every Tuesday I have dance class and then dance company rehersal and then reherssals on thursdays as well. This part is actually hard b/c I don't get home til 10, then I have to be up again at 430! I'm surviving though.

    My goals are:
-Strengthen my back and quads to prevent injuries from dance
-Have more energy and be able to get out of bed, not drag myself
-Survive on 7 hours of sleep a night
-Incorporate more fresh foods into my diet
-Get to the gym 4 days a week, come hell or high water
    -dance every day

It's hard, but we'll make it!

FoxyTina, Tofurky, Biker boy and others...

Thanks for the support! My job really has me down right now as I am working myself to death. It is 15 to midnight and I still have hours of work (and I work a 9-5 kinda job!). I got them to give me a laptop to work from home (which I am now abusing for personal use ) so at least i can leave work at a decent time (i have a pc at home, but boyfriend needs it for school right now). Tomorrow is gym day, and i expect to be exhausted so I may move it to Thursday.

I will post then on how I do...the way things are going with my job, I will never get to the gym daily, but I am proud I am sticking to 2 times weekly as I am working so many hours.

    great goals percyslion!

wildflower, god girl you need some sleep!

today i ate crappy. my sister had to go to the hospital and the stress causes me to not eat very well. sigh!

    today:

-2 baked potatoes w/ catalina dressing, vegan butter and vegan bacon bits
    -cup soy milk

Doesn't look like you needed to exercise today foxytina, you couldn't of had many calories from that little bit of food! So don't worry about it. I hope your sister is doing okay now.

Hi percy!! Your schedule sounds hectic. Getting up at 4:30am to walk the dog is pretty ambitious an a lil crazy! Bed is just so comfy and warm, especially @ that ungodly hour. You are amazing.

    Stuff eaten today:

1 muffin w/ a smidgen of peanut butter
    more of the tofu/bean/tomato/cornbread concoction
    1 pear
3 potatoes made into oven "fries" without the frying part
goddess dressing to dip fries into mmmm!
    3 crackers
    a few chocolate chips
ETA: a few more crackers w/ some organic, natural, no sugar added, healthy peanut butter w/ some agave nectar on top. I am a night time eater, I eat nothing for hours upon hours in the morning and then blow it all at night. Grrr. I think I need to get on some kind of normal schedule and implement a no eating at least 3 hours before bedtime rule or something. AND I need to get my lazy self to yoga tomorrow. God they are gonna die when they see how outta shape I am.

Total Cals: 1425 Exercise: NONE. So lazy. Someone kick me in the bum please!

Sorry to hear about your work. I have a similar problem, although i enjoy my work, i don't have time for anything else! or i'm too tired to train. i know i would get more energy if i was fitter - vicious circle.

did ok today - good food. hummus on toast for lunch and chickpea and corriander salad for tea.

But had a meeting at work and had two pints. thinking about going for a long walk but i think it's a bit late.

Garbanzoz are my favorite beans! Chickpeas are my favorite pea too.. Don't feel worried about being the only man here, I for one don't mind a bit. Maybe we should recruit some other men to start posting here as well??

Thanks Bikerboy. Sorry to hear you have a simillar situtation, but glad you understand. I "only" stayed up til 2AM, but I continued to see emails come through til 1. At 7:30 this morning I logged back in at breakfast and already had 10 emails...

i love what I do, but I hate the company I am doing it for.

All this work reminds me of college!

I skipped out on the Y today...way too tired, and was at work from 9 - almost 7 pm. Came home, opened a bottle of wine, ran a bath and relaxed in it while reading a veg magazine and burnng my lavander essential oil.

I think this counts as healthy, so it is worth sharing. I tried to take care of myself. I have one more thing due by end of day and I need to get out a summary/action items from a meeting I held today. That could wait til tomorrow I suppose but once i am at work, my day is sucked away by problems.

Foxy, I am sorry your sister was sick today. I know I have seen you post about her being sick and caring for her before, but never knew what her sickness was from. Hope you are both doing better. (((foxy)))

And yes...i do need sleep! Thanks for reminding me.

I too need sleep, it's 2:16am! I'm falling asleep at the wheel but thought I'd give my rundown for the day as I am trying to be good here! But I ate a lot of pumpkin seeds today. Bad bad girl. At least I didn't eat any junk today.

    stuffz eaten:
lots and lots of this yummy gluten nut roast thing w/ roasted pumpkin seeds w/ it *oink oink*
1 amy'z bean and rice burrito
1 bun w/ more of said roast and some goddess dressing and mustard on it

Total Cals: 1430 Exercise: Did my bikram yoga class. It was fabulous! I am so happy to be back in that room doing something that makes me feel like dying while I'm in there but OH SO FABULOUS when I'm done. I really really missed it. It's like my meditation, sweat lodge and yoga all in one.
