Default Vegetarains denied the right to foster a child

Check this story out from the bbc world service. It appears that a vegetarian couple's request to foster a child was turned down on the grounds that he or she would not be served meat at home. I can't believe that this prejudice still goes on

Has Monday seen this thread. She had posted a few days ago about the same problem and I advised her to take it to the press. Hope she does.

I noticed at the bottom that it said that they were reviewing it and they would be reconsidered - I posted the link to Monday's thread yesterday I don't think their logic stands up to scrutiny so they are likely to cave in to publicity and rethink the logic behind discriminating like that.

I can imagine that if any raw food vegans applied they wouldn't have a chance, though

I seem to recall the idea of freedom to expression holds here, i remember talking to people (veggies) who mentioned this, apparently when it comes to fostering or adoption a person cannot necessarily impose a view on the people that come to live with them. This however, is probably slightly flexible, but not in the eyes of the law.....

I've emailed fostering.net to see what info they have to say about the subject.
