    Default Daisy Chain Live

This is a good idea I think! My local vegan group is having a stall there to promote veganism. Greenpeace will also be represented. Please come if you are near enough!

Alison, the tearoom appears to still be there, with vegan options.

There will be a veggie catering van and they have been told there will be several vegans at the event so should come up with good food for us!

I haven't checked the Daisy Chain website recently, but I would think a list of exhibitors will be put up there.

If you travel by rail, there is a free bus taking people from Great Malvern station to the show ground. If you show your train ticket at the entrance to the show you will get £1 off your entry fee.

Went to this today so i thought i give you all a bit of feed back:-

Firstly, disappointing turn out of people, but then the show was not widely advertised. They expected 3000 visitors apparently it was only in the hundreds.

Probably about 30-40 stalls there with a real mix of stuff
Honda were there with their new hybred car, there were fair trade importers, the local health food shop had a stall, a couple of green investment companies and insurers, the usual suspects - greenpeace, friends of earth etc, our local vegan group had stands.

lots of eco gadgets - the eco kettle, the eco log maker (turns houshold waste into logs for open fires) and many more.

Green buildings (using hay as insulation etc.), solar panel people etc..

The big whinge though is that the host has a contract with a catering firm, so outside caterers aren't allowed stalls so the only food available was a pork cavery - I will be complaining.

All in all learnt alot met some good people, now considering a read bed water purification system for the garden. Feed my veg on my waste any one fancy coming for tea
    I dont get crunchy people?

I went Sat pm, took some finding via a rather round the hills local minibus complete with grumpy driver

A lot less stalls than I had expected and was not impressed with the catering options of a carvery/burger van/ice cream van

Very nice vegan scones on the health store stand.

Great to see Red Wellies and co doing a grand job on the local vegan stall (i thought i did very well not eating all the gummi bears ) sounds like there might be a few veggies turning vegan after a chat

It had not been advertised - the local health shops didnt know about it or the tourist info, also the steep prices to get in would of put a lot of people off.........

I enjoyed going and saying hello to people, this was the first event like this in the area, with more planning the next one could be bigger, the location is good there. I picked up some useful leaflets and info there and have found an organic box delivery scheme we might try.

Gertvegan - hope your trains were not too delayed?

Yes, it was cool. Some people just needed a bit of support to change, how great is that?!

Nice to see you both, Alison and Gert.
