Since this thread started my chocolate consumption has gone up. Any of the rest of you?
That's right, so you better watch it, missy!feral

Yes, Jane! Read my post about my choccy feast yesterday...I couldn't sleep til 2am last night! Is there more sugar in dark choc? Or is it the caffeine in it keeping me awake?

Sometimes chocolate makes me sick. The last few times I had a chocolate bar, I got sick.

Hi guys,
I'm really just writing this topic because I think it's well overdue. Many of us, as I expect, are all too disappointed when trying out a new vegan chocolate. I apologise now if you disagree but I'm sure a lot of us would confess that a well know Vegan brand of chocolate beginning with the letter 'P' is, well, bland. Bland and bitter. Their competitor's brand of chocolate, who we all know well, is a bit better but as some of you may not be aware have sold out to Cadburys, great.
Will I never enjoy chocolate again? Will I be forever reminiscing over the days of Ferrero Rocher and Walnut Whips? Well, actually, no, because my fellow Vegans I have discovered the yummiest, the smoothest and the most delightful tasting chocolates yet, and you don't get any of this overpriced pretentious artificial nonsense like a less well known Sussex brand!
I do confess that I spend a lot of my time searching the net for the next best Vegan product, I love food and I can't get enough of it!
So anyway, the other day I was trawling the net and came across a website that sells vegan chocolates, to be honest they could do a much better job of their website as it seems well outdated in my opinion.
I googled for vegan handmade chocolate truffles and there appeared Troody Skrumptious Chocolates: http://www.troodyskrumptious.co.uk/
It says on the site that they only deliver to the UK but I'm sure if you were willing to pay the postage they'd deliver it in Europe.
The prices are quite reasonable for Vegan truffles so I decided to call and the owner of the site, Trudy, answered. I asked for a £10 box but she told me she does do trial/small bags starting from £3.75. The site only lists a few flavours such as Coffee & Walnut, Fruit & Nut and Plain but she listed off a ream of other flavours such as Cherry & Coconut, Fudge and a whole list of Liquors to name a few. I decided to ask for a mixed box of Plain, Cherry & Coconut and Fudge. All the prices on the site include P&P and she only accepts cheques through the post.
She sent my order to me even before she cashed my cheque so I wasn't left waiting around. When my first box arrived, boy was I amazed! Firstly the packaging and presentation was excellent; each chocolate is either wrapped in its own bag and has a coloured ribbon to indicate which flavour the chocolates are or it's covered in a coloured foil.
The chocolates themselves were so gorgeous I had to check the ingredients list (it came in the box) just to check it was in fact Vegan. And yes, everything was kosher. The trick is the lower cocoa content than we're all used to which gives the chocolates a 'milk' chocolate taste. She seems to use good quality ingredients too and her mix of ingredients is absolutely second to none. It makes for a smooth sweet chocolate indulging experience.
Has anyone else tried these chocolates?? Let me know and tell me that they indeed deserve a lot of fuss.
I've heard about these truffles, and never quite got round to ordering any.
I'll get round to doing that now...
There'll be none o'that talk on this thread *wags finger at the strange child*Tigerlily
Maybe that's what it is.foxytina_69
Who knows, who knows. But I can still have chocolate soy milk and chocolate almond milk with no problems. I feel like baking a chocolate cake.
Peace, love, and happiness.
That's the kind of talk we want round hereTigerlily
I started my seasonal choc eating early as my mum sent me a big box of chocs for Easter (now I have mouth ulcers from the sugar..sorry ). Haven't eaten any chocs today though so should be fine to eat the huge easter egg I'm expecting from my husband .
I just had a chocolate fudge ice cream bar. Jealous?
Peace, love, and happiness.
That sounds nice, Tigerlily. Who makes those?

Soy Delicious, I think. My grocery store sells them individually, so I can just pop in to buy one instead of a large box.
Peace, love, and happiness.
I never new a thread about a bar of chocolate would become sooooooooooo big

Yay! I just got my Easter Egg . My mum found me a vegan one.
I ate too much chocolate. I feel a bit sick now. It's not my fault it tastes so good .
I hope everyone had a yummy easter!
I got two eggs- one dark chocolate one with a big bar of dark chocolate, and another which is one of the cute 'Bang On The Door' eggs- I couldn't believe it! Yummy dark chocolate egg with vegan jellies!!
I also got some Booja Booja truffles and a hairdryer.
*is even more disgusted with plain g&b's egg which was hollow! Tries to supress jealous rage*Troutina
I got one of those Bang On The Door eggs last year. Very nice, if a bit small. This year's is by a company called Kinnerton. It's made for people with allergies, which conveniently suits vegans too . It's nut, dairy, gluten and egg free. I do find it slightly amusing that a chocolate Easter EGG is labeled as being "egg free".Troutina
Glad that Booja-Booja choc came up, I was going to mention them. I've just had Booja-Booja champagne truffles, they are sooooooooooooo good! Off out to supper with fiends soon, taking Cherry's choc cake with me
It's green and black, it's got cherries in it and it's going in my tummy!
I don't think I ever really appreciated easter until today.

My Cloud 9 coconut chocolate bars from Vegan Essentials came on Saturday!!! Actually, I got 2 boxes by mistake! I ordered 6 chocolate bars, but found out that they had been sent to an invalid address, so I phoned and they had a new order shipped to me for free, because they expected that the invalid order would be shipped back to them. But over the weekend, I got both orders . I phoned Vegan Essentials to tell them, and they decided to knock off shipping for the second order. So now I have 12 Cloud 9 chocolate bars to scarf down . Actually, I only have 4 left (I gave 3 away and ate 5 )

Pennine Mud Pudding
(Recipe from The Basement Cafe in Manchester).
Heat 500ml of soya milk in a pan and add 2 really heaped teaspoons of cocoa. Stir till disolved then add 100g of vegan chocolate and stir till melted, then crumble 15 vegan choccy bourbon biccies in the pan, add half a cup of chocolate sponge and stir till its almost melted but still very lumpy.
Pour into dishes, set in fridge and serve with vegan pouring cream.

anyone seen this??
http://www.detoxyourworld.com/acatalog/temptress.html
I think the name (Temptress) is perfect for it! And I was wondering recently if raw chocolate bars exist. But, my, it's so expensive! It does say that it's cheaper for customers in the US, Australia, etc, the price would still be too steep

I tried some of the raw choc at the Bristol Fayre. Me and sharky thought it was ok but it was very very expensive and not worth the money. It was a bit dry.
i'll have to try some at some point to satisfy the curiosity
They might have some at the London Fayre Cedar so you will have to come
raw chocolate is disgusting!
'The word gorilla was derived from the Greek word Gorillai (a "tribe of hairy women")'
Raw chocolate may be disgusting, but smooth dark Belgian chocolate slowly melted into an enormous puddle is beautiful. Gently stir in coconut cream, margarine, and Kahlua and in just a few hours you have you have either a) some of the world's greatest truffle filling, or b) some of the world's greatest body paint.
Has anyone tried the organica white chocolate???? I reallllllllllllllllllly need to.....Infact, if i dont soon, i believe i will fade away and die....someone help me...please....send me six bars...lol.
My turn of mind is so given to taking things in the absurd point of view that it breaks out in spite of me every now and then.

I haven't tried Organica white chocolate and didn't know they did a vegan version, will definitely look out for that. I did, however, get a bag of Vantastic Foods white chocolate chips from the London Vegan Festival, which I thought tasted better than the ones I bought the previous year from Veganstore. If anyone knows where I can get more of these (save a german website with no english translation option) please do let me know.
Lately I have been scoffing the truffles I bought at Whole Foods in the US. I know you can also buy them (365 brand organic truffles) in Fresh and Wild in London. The cappuccino ones are particularly delicious.
I like a glass of chocolate soymilk with a big glob of vegan whipped cream and then some chocolate syrup on top!
I eat nutritional yeast by the spoonful.
