Troody Skrumptious is still making her top notch handmade vegan truffles so that is a thought for Easter or any other special occasion. I'll certainly be placing an order!
(She is now based in Newcastle so those local to her can probably arrange to pick up the chocs and save some postage).

I'd be happy to send some over, but apparently a forum member has eaten everything (see "what did you eat today") !
I don't remember seeing anyone posting about Plamil's "Organic Dark with White Mint Chocolate Chips" before, but I found some today in a shop in Jersey. Obviously I was as quite excited, until I tasted it a few minutes later and was quite disappointed
I also got some of the Divine Mint Crisp Chocolate that I haven't tasted yet.
Edit: I've now tasted it, it's very nice
Edit Edit: Actually it's really nice
that's a shame, although i'm not entirely surprised - i've always found Plamil's chocolate rather disappointing.
i'm not sure i've had the Divine mint one, i'll have to look out for it.
'The word gorilla was derived from the Greek word Gorillai (a "tribe of hairy women")'
Hi, my name is Shannon and I'm a chocoholic.
I thought I would post here for two reasons:
1. I have an assignment due on Monday and I have to work most of the weekend at my two jobs, so today is the only real chance I'll get to do it, so, naturally, I am obliged to waste as much of today as I can.
2. I am a recovering chocoholic who plans to take up the habit again in eight months and I would like to share my story.
One Sunday morning sitting at home after finishing a late shift (I bartend), about 7am, I was sitting at home with some colleagues. I was eating a box of TeeVee snacks (delicious chocolate biscuits - I wasn't vegan then). Marty had worked that night as well, Mikey had the night off so he came in and got completely drunk. So I was eating chocolate and he was drunk, things we were both well known for. After some conversation we decided to challenge eachother: him to go two weeks without drinking, including over St Patrick's day, and me with no chocolate (operationally defined as: nothing that can be described as being, or containing chocolate), including over Easter. Tough, huh...
Anyway he made it over St Patty's, and a week into it he showed up at work smashed off his face. I had been hoarding all the Easter eggs given to me at work until after the two weeks was over so I could eat them; I wasn't going to break! But when Mikey didn't hold up his end of it I did, and made up for it big time over the next few days...
Anyway, I felt pretty bad about it because it wasn't a contest, I didn't win, it was a personal challenge for each of us. Damn. I went home for Easter to my Mum's and decided that after Easter I would go A WHOLE YEAR to prove that I could...
Here I am four and a half months later, as vigilant about anything chocolate flavoured as I am about my plant-based diet (I have been vegan about two months). I'm so committed that I passed up cocktail tasting at work and turned down desserts at birthday parties before I was vegan. When she heard, one of my friends bet me $100 that I couldn't go a year... So when the subject ever comes up I just say I made a bet for $100 and that's why I'm not eating chocolate. Of course, everyone says 'ONLY $100?'. But it wasn't the $100 that made me do it... I had a serious habit, equivalent to 3 or 4 Mars bars on a bad day, chocolate milks, biscuits... Oh the memories. It's not hard at all anymore, it never really was actually, but I'm a little nervous about next Easter when my year is up. I will probably go on a Godzilla rampage at the health food store. Oh well we'll see.
love yas!!!!!!!!! xoxoxoxoox
Aldi has a great range of well priced dark choc including a fab pack of 5 small bars of dark choc with almonds and orange in 5 bars for 99p really nice. Friend introduced me to this, she uses it as a choc cake topping and it is rather wow
Cant think of the name but Its the only ones that come in the 5 smaller bars in 1 pack, they do a dark and bitter too, but the chco orange one is best!
A year, tresu? Good luck! I've given up chocolate before...and lasted a total of 3 days! lol. My dad, on the other hand, hasn't eaten chocolate in over 30 years!!! But I think he's crazy.
I bought some vegan chocolate drops from here they arrived today - they taste exactly and I mean EXACTLY like Galaxy.
Hard to believe they are vegan to be honest - anyone else tried them? Would someone please try them to give me their opinion.
Ingredients = Cocoa mass 45% - Sugar 45% - Cocoa Butter 9% Emulsifier = Soya Lecithin - Flavouring = natural vanilla.
Oh dear oh dear I fear these little pieces of heaven may be my undoing!

well, sometimes you have to take the manufacturers word for it - we don't check everything back we buy in a supermarket do we? - we trust the supplier with being honest - if it says it's vegan, good enough for me - i'm looking forward to the taste test
oh my goodness me! these choc drops arrived - i popped 5 or 6 in to test and - GALAXY!!!! i remember it so clearly now!
they are amazing and the ingredients are vegan; for allergy protection the only thing with the added warning is; soya.
thanks vava!
Oooh sounds tempting. Gonna have to buy me some.
well i've bought some but they haven't arrived yet. looking forward to trying them.

Grrr - have sworn off chocolate for a while as I thought I might actually be getting addicted. Should probably swear off this thread as well! Am going to put the choc drop page in my favourites for later though.
They are ever such little drops and you can suck them for ages..... and....I emailed her and asked her if she had a permanent supply and she said YES!!!!!

Good, shall buy some when I feel Cured.
I'm sure you can suck them for ages but whether I would is another matter. Am also a bit worried about the bulk discount because at least if you only have one bar of chocolate in the house the potential damage is limited
I used to love Galaxy when veggie so will order a pack of those thanks
mine arrived yesterday and OMG! they're sooooo nice. they really don't taste vegan at all, even though the ingredients on the pack are vegan and it says vegan in big letters, i hope the makers are trustworthy!
Im all excited now - how long did your order take Gorilla? I paid by paypal yesterday - added another card to avoid those echeque delays so hope they have had the cash and will send out.................
Fatal going on ebay as Ive spotted someone in Manchester who does cakes - a baker who says he makes vegan cakes in different area of bakery - might have to try those in the future.
Back to chocolate - tried the Organica coveture bar with raisens and almond yesterday........... sweet but nice!
it only took two days i think Alison.
oooh, the pink sweet shop are great! I bought the vegan smarties from them for my wedding favour boxes.
When I have money I am well getting these!
Might try vegan smarties in the future
Glad Its short delivery time am keen to try these
Very quick delivery - Wow really yummy choc well impressed!
Just worried how quick the bag will go
Can see a repeat order here in the future!
Well worth trying
I've caved in and bought some now - Vava you should ask for a free bag for giving them all this publicity - they've had lots of extra business from us since you review!

I had spotted the 1kg bag but would not dare buy that
Might get some nearer Christmas and share them around with vegan friends and work,my Mum loves them, Dad who is a dark choc fan said it was like milk choc didnt think it was vegan.
I took a few to work they are so moorish
Mine just arrived - aren't they more-ish, I can't stop having 'just one more'! You lot have a lot to answer for!!!

Lol I might order a big bag nearer Christmas thinking I could make nice gift bags or jars of these up to give as gifts or sell on the dog rescue stall I help a friend with - am now going to have a few more
Non vegan friends tried some last night, said they were really good but thought they were vegan 'not quite galaxy' but very good
It says on there that they are made by Lynton, who have on their webpage that their products don't contain dairy. They're fairtrade too. I'm definitely going to be ordering some. Is 1kg enough!??
Y'know, I think it'll have to be done. My topic at school (I teach 8 year olds) is CHOCOLATE! Hehehehehehe - I ate my numeracy demonstration materials yesterday. And the science ones. Oops. Anyway, I spotted a chocolate fountain in the resources cupboard, and as they all prefer milkier chocolate I think it's only right I should purchase the biggest bag of chocolate buttons going.
Id never heard of Lynton products - interesting to see the range of easter/christmas products made - shame no direct online store.
The 1kg bag is on my wish list now
Hope she doesnt run out with all us chocoholic vegans ordering
where does it say no dairy? cant see......

I've emailed them as well to make sure
