Spuds
Let me provide a tasty recipe using the much maligned but delicious, versatile and sustaining potato.
The Very Best Oven Chips
Approx 1 1/2lbs or 1 kilo of waxy potatoes (I use 'Vivaldi') de-eyed, but unpeeled.
I large tablespoonful vegetable oil
1 vegan stock cube or 1 heaped teaspoonful of vegan vegetable stock powder
Half a tablespoonful (or to taste) tamari or shoyu soya sauce
Onion powder to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Paprika to taste.
Wash, de-eye and chip up potatoes and place in large bowl
Crumble stock cube or scatter stock powder over chipped potatoes
Pour over tamari or shoyu
Mix
Scatter onion powder, garlic powder and paprika over potatoes and mix.
Place potatoes in non-stick oven tray
Cook for around 40 mins. (depending on size of chip) on gas mark 6.
These chips are a delicious treat that is lower in fat, you'll never know that they have not been fried.

Re: Spuds
I love spuds! Mashed, baked, boiled, roasted or chipped. They're all good!
I'll be sure to try your recipe RedVeg but I'll probably have chips deep fried tonight. Or mash. Decisions, decisions...

Re: Spuds
I only ever do them in the oven, but I haven't tried it with stock powder/cube. I tend to season them with paprika or (if feeling daring) cayenne pepper.
