I am pretty busy all through the summer at the moment pob this has been a pretty busy time for me, last year I was not sabbing much due to my dad being ill and this year / summer I am flat out doing building / decorating work on my house at the weekend. By Sept it should be all done if goes well, so the Vivia Vegie Roadshow in Bath will be my first....I would like to do the Animal Aid show this year.Pob
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams
that's awful about SARC, sounds like they were deliberately targeted...
glad to hear everyone had a great time, shame i couldn't go really.

i really wish id been able to go to this i am so sad that i missed it.
I suppose all the festivals are about the same distance from you, lozza
Can you make any of the London ones?
I wonder if they targetted SARC or just people who were carrying a cashbox
"Danger" could be my middle name … but it's "John"
not really i'll not be able to make it to any festivals at all just now, cos i'm having serious money troubles.
soz
that's a shame Lozza, money's one of the reasons why i didn't go to the Bristol fayre either.
i'm not saying SARC were necessarily targetted because of who they are, but because someone knew they were carrying cash at least.

Had a great day got loads of pics of carnival girls I'll post a link to some time for Pob, met loads of you and had a great time in the pub having a chat with them and not typing it in (think once or twice I looked for the keyboard ) loved being around other vegans.
Yeah - hurry up and get them pics up!
Was glad that I got to see them in the flesh (), though. Was gutted when you showed me the pics and I ahd completely missed them first time around.

The second show one of the girls was in the crowd right in front of me so got a few close ups as well

I have a pic of the fayre from the outside if it's wanted, none inside and no pictures of any people in particular. Most of my pics are from longleat that I went to the day after.
I want to see all pictures!!
ooh it looked much less busy than when I was there! what time of day was it? We were there from before 10 till just before 2, and it was a bit of a crush the whole time. Thanks for the pic!
It was 13:35:44
really! I thought that was when there was a huge crowd round that stage watching the contortionist? I guess I didn't keep track of time very well lol
Can you be a little more accurate please?Risker

Actually let me check again to make sure lol
Haha, nice work kenetic! Loving those pictures. Were they Vegans?
A brief review of the Bristol Vegan Fayre 2006 can be read here. Pictures added later.
I am so sorry Moonshadow! I did not see your message until now, usually with threads I am on I get a message on email when there are more postings so no idea what happened, but I did not get any messages to remind me to check the forum but still it is my fault not checking into the forum more often.
We did see the clown show, Lucy is 4 1/2, my other children are 13 and 10. Sorry we missed you and your daughter.
Did you see the mum complaining afterwards to "Silly Sally" about her doing the Old MacDonald song? I thought she had a point, although I did not get involved in the argument, but this song in mainstream society is a big part of the way kids are indoctrinated that farms are nice places with happy animals, and there is no problem with farming.
Otherwise we had a nice time and ate well and saw quite a lot of friends we have known for years, but mostly would probably not recognise people from this forum.

We were stood around when Silly Sally did that song. I thought it was inappropriate, but then thought maybe I was being too sensitive as I didn't notice anyone else with a problem. But what you say there makes sense. It was a very poor choice of song.
Maybe the song needs to be updated to reflect modern farming practises.

Me too! But then I also thought it was annoying that she had to screech at the children. I don't think they were hard of hearing but I was beginning to wish I was!Pob

I think we met at the wrong time my ears were ringing after Silly SallyRedWellies
I heard a woman (fayre-goer) having an arguament with a woman at a stall (ethical gifts or something, I think, near the back juice bar) about having a bag made of recycled coke cans for sale. I think she had a point anyway, but the stall woman was really arguing with her, saying that it's fair traded, but anyway it's not wise to have a coke item for sale at a VEGAN fayre... even the non AR vegans would be against coke for health or enviro reasons I think. Anyway, I thought it was a bit heated and so just walked away to another stall! I wouldn't argue with people if I was trying to sell stuff!
A few pics can be found here.
I wondered why I thought I'd read all these posts before, this is last years BVF thread.
