No sign of these in my local Tesco so i e mailed them and got this back!
Thank you for your email.
I understand that you're looking for meat-free chicken style fillets. I've checked our database for you, but couldn't find the item that you're looking for.
Our computers only work with very precise, detailed descriptions or barcodes. If I enter a description like 'baked beans' the system will come up with over 100 products. This often means that, unless we have more precise details, we won't be able to find the product you're asking about.
If you can give me the description as it appears on the product, the price and/or the barcode, I will do my utmost to locate the item. If you don't have all these details, please give me as much information as you have
Anyone?
Cheers

Sorry to hear you haven't found these in your local tesco gogs. How big is your local store? It may be worth looking in one of the larger stores perhaps? I found the pic that I posted above on the tesco home shopping website, but I buy the fillets & nuggets from my local. You need to be registered with tesco online but perhaps you could do that then a search in home shopping? Just an idea, if they appear it may be that they are available to you locally :O)
i looked for the chicken-style fillets on the online shopping site but it didn't find them.

I just checked again and they are still there! Go to "Groceries" then click on "frozen food", then "frozen ready meals, pizza" then "frozen vegetarian" -
Tesco Meat Free 2 Chicken Style Fillets 200g
And
Tesco Meat Free Chicken Style Dippers 375g
Voila! Hope you find them!
nope, they're definitely not there when i look it up.

Boo! Maybe they haven't stocked them in all stores yet. I just looked to see if I could find a product code but there isn't one sorry. All I can suggest is to keep your eye on the frozen section & hope that they appear, or email tesco with a photo copied from the one I posted? Good luck!
whether it's "chicken style" or not, it's still Tesco, right?
their online stuff varies a lot from store to store
I found the chicken-style fillets and dippers in my local tesco yesterday, think they've only just appeared there. I noticed they also had some non-vegan nut cutlets (in the old packaging) next to the vegan ones (in the new packaging) - I guess they're just using up the old stock but watch out in case any others are doing the same! Would be easy to pick the wrong ones up if you were in a hurry.
I have had those^^ they are ok, the dipper things are much nicer though.
We STILL haven't got them over here yet. I have traipsed around County Antrim (I even think one of the stores was in County Down) and I still can't find a Tesco that has them!

They don't stock these in any Tesco in Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire! Pisses me off because the biggest Tesco I have ever seen in my life is about 30mins from my house!
The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.
Right here goes -
Barcode Number on Chicken Style Fillets is: 5051622 094316
And on the Chicken Style Dippers it's: 5051622 067099
Good luck guys!
And got this very nice, if a tad disappointing, reply!
Further to your enquiry.
Please accept my apologies for the disappointment my reply may cause regarding the availability of these two products.
I have checked our data base and unfortunately the nearest store stocking the Dippers and Fillets is the Glasgow St Rollox.
Once again I am sorry there is not a store stocking in your area.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting TES5377.

Ah well, cheers for the help KJ!

I bought the new vegan nut cutlets the other day at my local Tesco but no chicken-style fillets or dippers have appeared yet, there's only a small veggie section. I think they taylor their ranges to suit what sells best and as I don't live in a particularly veggie-friendly area they don't stock the full range, but if they don't try them out they won't know if they prove to be popular or not. If they don't appear soon I'll ask if they're going to stock them.
I sent Tesco an email just now to ask if and when we will be getting the vegan fillets and dippers over here. I hope we are going to get them here!

Sorry to hear the response wasn't very positive, Gogs, but hopefully they may appear in your local tesco soon.
I did notice yesterday that Tesco have changed the recipe of their reduced fat salad cream, it now contains egg, which is annoying. Can anyone suggest an alternative? Thanks.
Sainsburys and Co-op reduced fat salad cream are free from egg, and so is the brand Waistline.

Tesco's jam doughnuts are amazing amazing!
And they do these awesome american style cookies which are sultana and cinnamon and something, delish.
tescos jam doughnuts? am i missing something here?
I know they were wrongly entered into the 2000 edition of animal shopper and that's the last i've heard?
"Mr Flibble - forum corruptor of innocents!!" - Hemlock
yes, the last i heard a lot of people mistakenly believed they were vegan and then it was revealed that they never were.
Have you tried the Alpro organic 'cheese' yet Bryzee?
I hope my nearest shop gets all those things in!
I like Sandra, she keeps making me giggle. Daft little lady - Frosty
i´m sur the alpro organic "cheese" will be like the one you get from provamel in germany. there was already a thread and all i can tell is, that it tastes a bit sour. it reminds me a bit of sourcream.
i wonder which tesco might have all that stuff, cus mine does neither cheezly nor the alpro "cheese"
http://vegangothfairy.wordpress.com
I found the alpro creamy 'cheeze' a bit grainy, I much prefer Scheese creamy ones to be honest, and there are more flavours. A shame because it's organic and I would prefer to buy organic if poss.
yeah, but alpro is lower fat (good for a porker like me), and doesn't taste of feet.
I love the Alpro cream cheese, but I never liked the real stuff so maybe I can't really compare.
What book Troutina?
I'm all confused with Tesco's doughnuts............one minute I read they are vegan then the next they aren't!
I like Sandra, she keeps making me giggle. Daft little lady - Frosty
If you ask at the bakery they have a big book of everything thats vegan.
I really hope they are vegan.........I'd love to get some.
It's just that some members have had trouble in the past with Tesco and their doughnuts..........some instore bakeries say they are vegan and some say they aren't!
I like Sandra, she keeps making me giggle. Daft little lady - Frosty
they are in the Tesco list of vegan foods (if you ask Tesco they give a list of foods suitable for various diets, one list is for vegans Sandra) and they were in the animal free shopper guide, weren't they?.
they were in the animal free shopper incorrectly

I'm not sure about Tesco doughnuts.........on page 2 of this thread there is talk of them not being vegan. I remember reading somewhere else on the forum that ingredients vary from one store to the next and that some have milk in them.
I really really hope they are vegan as I used to love their jam doughnuts but haven't had one in years! I wish I knew for certain, as last time I was just about to go out and buy a bag when I read that they might not be vegan!
Does anyone know for sure?

That's the thread I was talking about........thanks Mr Flibble!
