Hey, I'm in Sweden =D
Hey, I'm in Sweden =D
Hi there in sweden. hmm..whereabouts is Almost-There-Ville? ..hope its somewhere vegan friendly!
Hey VegaLi!
Sweden? Great!
I see you're a health consultant. Do you recommend veganism to your clients, too?
You know, this morning I read on SVT's website that meat consumption has increased by 50 % (!!) in Sweden since 1990! I seriously thought it had at least decreased a little bit with the age of environmentalism and the wave of health concern in the past four or so years. Why, do you reckon?
Hej Karlstad! Har en syster där faktiskt
I know the meat consumption has increased, but I didn´t know how much!! I absoluetly sure that it has to do with Atkins, LCHF, GI and such diets. Some people do anything to be/stay thin.
My job as a health consultant is for example to help people eat healthier than they do today. And that usually means more fruits and vegetables and less meat. I don´t command my clients to go vegan, but eating healthy is a step against veganism/vegetarism. And if one client could just eat one less meal meat/week, I´m happy! Thats saves not only my client, but many animals to!
I don´t eat anything with a face.
Kul! Så du har varit i Karlstad då?
Right now I actually live not from from Katrineholm. Doing some research here for a month. I lived in Stockholm a bit last year. It was so different being able to go out for lunch and dinner. And there is Goodstore there! A whole grocery full of vegan food
Yeah I figured your job kind of goes hand in hand with veganism And I totally agree that the less meat the better. If your clients want to keep on eating meat do you recommend them to have fish or bird instead?
Figures, these new diets. It's weird, though, because I would say that still most reliable TV shows and books promote a green diet to these Atkins/LCFS alternatives. I do much more thinking into GI nowadays, though, and I feel much better and have more energy. I'm happy with this adaptation.
Haha, I started arguing a while ago with a few of my friends who are LCHF followers. I think that I ran them over completely because I showered them with scientific evidence that LCHF is wrong and that vegetarianism is way better. They didn't care about my science =P
I Katrineholm?!
I don´t eat anything with a face.
Vad pluggar hon?
Haha, vad lustigt lustigt!
I don´t eat anything with a face.
I'm from Iceland, which 'technically' isn't Scandinavian, but I'm butting in anyway.
Hello, Scandinavians :0

Another Finn here.
Hej!
Peace // Max Lindqvist.
Well I'm a Swegan... yeah from Sweden.
From the great capital (though not so great in my opinion)
Actually I like Copenhagen more...
Hi i'm from London Uk with no Scandinavian roots ( scottish/nigerian . but i'm really interested in Scandinavia and the answers to this post are really interesting for me. I just started learning Finnish ( finally after wanting to for like a year). It so hard already! . i've been learning russian for about a year and a half now and that was abit hard but i've made alot of progress but somethings i read about Finnish grammar and i just think.." my poor little english brain" haha But i have a really good teacher and it is my book that confuses me, not her explanations .Sometimes i get very confused because most of teh time now, i only listen to Yle ,whilst studying russian while my mums talking to me in english and sometimes my head is like *_* haha.how you guys remember those endings i don't know. But i'm really enjoying the challenge and i'm really bored of speaking english .
It wouldn't be for a while, since i have to " finnish" ( yeah i coldn't escape the awful pun sorry) an art course i'm doing. thenn i want to do a 4 year course of Russian and linquistics ( o_O) thenn i want to se if i can become an au pair in Norway. well..thats the basic plan. ofcourse i know things don't always work out how you'd like but thats what i hope will happen. ( because i wanted to learn Norwegian anyway) Though i always find myself going in circles when im considering Danish or Norwegian ( i don't know why i should have to pick one, but i hear people saying that both are extreamly similar in terms of vocab but the ponounciation is very different?) . Its really interesting that some people wrote you can eat tofu in Lapland too ( i was shocked) because i'd really like to try and learn Sami some day. i think it is a beatuful language . xx hey " bea"tufu"l -i meant beautiful language xx
I'm Norwegian, but I've lived in the UK now for the past 6 - 7 years. The past few times I've been back to visit my family I've been positively surprised at new vegan food items appearing in the grocery store aisles.
I'm a vegan from Sweden, and originally Umeå which someone mentioned early has had a very strong straight edge movement. I've never encountered it though, in any way, and my vegan journey had very little to do with Umeå. I currently reside in Göteborg which is the second largest city in Sweden. A coastal city with a lot of seafood (sigh haha).
It's incredibly easy to be vegan in Sweden. Every grocery store has a large variety of vegan friendly groceries, which are often organic. Soy, almond, oat and rice milk is standard. Soy and oat yoghurt. We also have a vegan friendly soy brand with steaks, meatballs, granulate etc. Except the meat and dairy replacements I find it easy with organic nuts, vegetable pastes or nut butters.
Since I've become vegan I haven't had the desire to travel due to the complications my veganism might create. I'd love to travel somewhere vegan friendly though, meet fellow vegans and just feel hopeful about life seeing others that have made the (in my opinion easy) decision.
Oh, before I go. If you ever happen to come to Gothenburg, I'd be more than happy to let you stay at my place and show you around !
mine doesn't show either :/
O mighty Nords, I am a visitor in the land of Danes and require assistance in finding vegan clothing suitable ter resist ye wretched winter!
Ok so enough with ye olde English. I need to know where to find:
-Elegant boots that will also protect me from rain and wind
-Thermal under clothing, preferably the kind that can be worn underneath elegant shirts and pants
-A good coat - good in both looks amd isolation!
-Less to do with winter, I really want to buy myself a nice perfume/EDP/EDT, but between PeTA and gocrueltyfree I can't tell who's right and who just might...
I'd love to get stores/brands/designers names that sell these things. Would appreciate any bit of related information, and of course - vegan-cruelty-free products only!!!
TAAAAAK!!!!!
