    Default Margate

Has anyone found anywhere in Margate where we can get a decent meal out - we're planning a visit there later on in the year! Also, if there are any b&bs we can stay at...?

I would also be interested to hear of good restaurants as I am heading that way this weekend!

I don't think there is anywhere decent for vegans in Margate tbh, I have some family living there and whenever I visit we always end up going somewhere with no vegan options and I end up with a liquid lunch.

    A quick Google found http://www.copperfieldsbb.co.uk/
which is 3 miles from Margate.

Might be worth giving them a ring and seeing if they know any vegan friendly places to eat in the area.

    And your problem is?

Thanks Pob, we could stay there and peruse the delights of Margate during the day.

We're heading to margate for a week in a couple of weeks so anyone got anything new to add to this thread?

According to google maps there are 3 health food stores in Margate, a H&B, Julian Graves and an independent called Kaylens.

Kaylens is no longer there, H&B has shut down but Julian Graves has become another H&B however they have no fridge or freezer so there's slim pickings for vegan food.

My advice to anyone visiting Margate is to leave. Get a bus to Canterbury (£5 return) where there's a larger H&B and Canterbury Wholefoods which is quite a large shop and has a cafe above it serving vegan options.

^ That is annoying isn't it?
I used to go to scooter rallies in Margate back in the day but usually all my meals were purely beer so I can't remember the food shops.
I do remember having an altercation in Canterbury though, in a veggie restaurant where the waiter was EXTREMELY offensive to me about veganism.
Hope you have a good week regardless.

Surely you could just call up and ask before hand? They might take things out if they don't have any vegan options. Usually works for me.

Has anyone found any places that do vegan food in Margate yet? I'm going there next weekend and it would be nice to get some lunch.
