Mmm pizza and sushi!

Ruby, I actually didn't use one. We just used paper bags, our hands and the counter. I'm sure we'll get one though for next time, it would make things a lot easier.
Mahk, thanks for the tips. That's pretty much what I *tried* to do, I just need a sharper knife
Aradia, that meal looks awesome. Yours too, Juicygirl. I could go for some of that pizza.

What is it with this forum and chilli? I'm probably going to be making it again today now. Looks yummy. The pizza looks scrump as well, black olives and pineapple mmm, could do with adding jalapenos also IMO.
Aradia - that lentil pate looks gorgeous as well, in fact everything on here looks delicious, I'm hungry.

god that chilli looks good.
mmmmmmmmmm.........
I've got a chili trauma. actually, a couple of. No more chili for me, sorry- you can have it all.
I made some Chiftele de ciuperci (Romanian mushroom patties) for the first time today, and they came out really well. I'm not even a big fan of mushrooms, but these were really tasty.
that looks really tasty!
where have all the food-picture-taking-posters gone??

Me, I've been commuting about 3 hours a day and eating packaged food or $11 salads from Whole Foods. Here's what I've managed to whip up on the weekends.
Party food for bf's birthday shindig - seven layer dip
veggie tray
cookie cake
tailgating for football which starts way too early on the west coast, indoors-style: veggie chorizo & tofu scramble burrito, roasted potatoes and chocolate chip pancakes

u have a lucky bf jambox.
I hope he appreciates it!

the best dessert i've ever made. (of course it's no-bake )

You'd have been safe just posting the recipe straight away Ruby
But seeing as you said "on request"...
Gimme that recipe! Now!!! Please?!
*drooling*
Wow it all looks great. Mamaliga - those mushroom things look lush! JBR - your food always looks healthy as well as yummy. Ruby that pie looks absolutely delicious!
I just made brunch, I burnt the pizzas the first time but I did it again and it was worth it, mmm I put vegan pesto on the base of it:
I had this the other day, just roast veggies and penne with garlic pitta bread (sorry if I already posted it!):
now I want a pizza!
sorry est, you're right and I knew that when I wrote that.
I was just eing lazy. well, I think it was close to 2am, so I was just bing tired!
Anyway, here tis:

PXS, I found this recipe....I had to go looking because Mamaliga's look sooo good
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
Thanks! Poison Ivy has posted the website I got the recipe from - I halved the recipe on there, and still had enough of it to make two meals. It's quite a good site in terms of vegan Romanian stuff. Haven't looked at making potato ones yet, but I imagine they'll be similar. I'll look into it.
If you're going to alter the recipe at all, don't leave out the dill! I hadn't used it before making these, but I think it was the ingredient that made them so awesome.
My Grandfather was Romanian, but that's a far as the connection goes. I've been learning the language, reading about the culture and cooking up a storm in recent months, but I'm afraid I've lived in Britain all my life.
On today's (not Romanian) menu: Vegetable samosas
Filling turned out great, but the pastry was too thick. Also, no oven at the moment so I had to fry them. Unhealthy, but a success.
Aaaaaaagh. I hate posting right after your beautiful photos!! Mine aren't that great... but I don't cook very often so I figure I should celebrate even my botch jobs!
Tagliatelle (white and green) w/ mushroom 'bolognese' sauce from Rose Elliot's Vegan Feasts:
Stir fried veggies w/ coriander rice:
The veggies were: red onion, garlic, asparagus, green beans, broccoli, mange tout, red pepper, green pepper, yellow pepper, mushrooms, dry chilli flakes. The rice I did in water that had a sprinkling of ground coriander in it, and then I mixed it with part heated/wilted and part fresh coriander after it was cooked. Seemed to work!
Looks yummy Est, how do you get the rice that shape?
(I need to stop looking on this thread and stop reading about vegan food!)
I copied the restaurant that served me with beautifully shaped coriander rice on Sat! Would never have thought of it by myself
Pressed it into an American measuring cup, dinner plate on top, turned over and tapped out... voila!
The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you're uncool.
The food certainly seems a lot heartier than the stuff I'm used to cooking for myself - going from stir-frys every night to stews and starchy food has made coping with the cold weather much easier!
Tonight I'll be making something similar to the Spicy Almond Tofu recipe (http://www.veganforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18520) posted by Yoggy in the recipe section.
that bolognese sauce makes me wat to try making some!
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
Unfortunate colour of sauce (much darker in real life - the photo has faded it!), but extremely delicious...
Udon noodles w/ peanut sauce. Sprinkled w/ white sesame seeds and spring onion. Red pepper, orange pepper, cucumber, lime wedges. All squeezed over with a little lime juice. The noodles and the sauce are hot, everything else raw.
Mmm peanut sauce! I have been reading up on Dr McDougall's program so no peanut sauce for me from now on as I am trying to reduce the oil in my diet.
I've been lazy in uploading pics so will post lots later
Ok, I am back w/ muchos, muchos photos!

mamaliga- those romanian patties make me wish i had a nonstick frying pan...(i tried to make pancakes at the weekend and ended up with stuck-to-frying-pan-cakes instead)
amanda
Another fan of those mushroom patties here ... they look delicious!
Here's my lunch from today ... stir fry, eveything in it is home-grown ... it really made me smile as it was just so colourful and cheerful. Veggies are great!
MAN OH MAN!!!! This is the first thread I go to when coming to this forum. It makes me drool and gives me some serious vegan cooking motivation. Too bad I don't have a car- the amount of organic goodness I would buy could probably clean out my wallet. Wait... maybe that's good I don't . . . hehe... anyways...
I'll have to post some pictures sometime... however, everytime I cook something and plan to take a picture- I always ruin it by eating it as I make it, and by the time it's done it's just not picture worthyXD
cheers guys n gals!
That looks awesome Aradia! I had a stirfry today but itwasn't nearly half as good as your's even looks. Ya know I think I'm going off stirfrys altogether!

Hmm, haven't posted any food pics for so long, but here's a couple of things I made in the last few months:-
Pecan Crumb Pumpkin Cake from V'Con.. I added some choc chips too.
and with some of the Newman O's that Jamboxrocks very kindly sent me I made a Cookies and Cream Cake (also made Cookies and Cream Icecream but haven't eaten any of that yet so no pics)
I've signed up for VeganMoFo over on the PPK, I'm hoping it'll kickstart my interest in food again...so hopefully have plenty of pics in October!
