    Sarah I have one of those too. You can use it for anything in a tube. I find it really useful for those vegan pate spreads (can't remember the name). They're in a metal tube and really hard to get...

    That happened to me with rice once. I cooked the rice for an hour and it was still hard. Very strange. I leave the salt out now and just use herbs.

    I've been going to Asda in the evening to get veg. They have a reduced section which often has organic stuff as well.
