Syndian Aussie Veggie burger on homemade bread w/ salad, bbq sauce & a Tofutti cheese slice (the pattie is pink because of the beetroot, looks a bit too much like raw meat imo!)

Yummo.
That hummus looks awesome. I thought i'd given up trying to make my own, but you've inspired me - hopefully this time i can get it to taste right, usually it's well bland, so i go overboard on garlic thinking it'll add flavor = shock to the tastes.

the most important thing is: don't skimp on tahini or salt.

Yup, load up on the tahini and add some liquid to get it smoother. That batch was my first time attempting to make it. I was at home, felt like hummus but didn't want to go to the shops. So I used 2 tins of c'peas, 2 cloves of garlic, tahini, salt and water. The recipe said to use the c'pea liquid but I tipped that out.
It was a bit thick and dry but I didn't want to add too much tahini because I've added it to dressings before and it ruined them.

Yest'day I made it again, added more tahini and water and it came up with a better texture.

Instead of hummus at home I roughly crush chick peas with a little oil and roasted garlic cloves, sprinkle with a lil more oil and some coarse sea salt (the key is in the salt!) and you have a really quick easy and slightly different version.

Sound nice and rustic, imagine it'd be nice with some lightly grilled bread/pita. yummo, will try this.

Man thing made me this. I dunno where he got the inspiration from because he had never eaten non-meat based meals before he met me.

It is sauteed spinach, red onion, ginger, garlic, polenta and cashew nut. It was very yummy.
